and just deal away Higgins, Stillman, Olesz, Dvorak
Depends. I like both Reasoner and Dvorak, and would be fine with keeping either. It all depends on who has the most interest in who, and what we can get back.
With the whole "going back to our roots" thing that Tallon has been implementing, i'd venture a guess and say Dvorak might have a bit more of a chance of remaining a Panther since he was on the 96 team. But ultimately, if there's a nice deal in place, i have to believe Tallon pulls the trigger.
Because he's going to be a free agent and we need to hoard picks and prospects.
We also need to have sound and solid veterans around to help all these youngsters, and Reasoner is that guy. If he's moved, I hope we'll be able to sign him in the off-season, and I'll be cheering for his new team. He's been great for us this season.

I don't get why as to so many Panther fans are so quick to give up on Higgins? If he went to a team like Philly for a 2nd rounder Florida would end up getting hosed IMO
I don't think it's really that we're giving up on Higgins; he's been really good in his last 10 games or so. But if we're not in the playoff picture by the deadline we're going to be desperate to stock up on picks.

We would definitely not be getting hosed in that deal. But I'd still like him re-signed. I could see why some Panthers fans would want him traded though, he has decent value and he hasn't exploded this season although he's been good. But he'll be cheap to sign and the free agent market will be putrid. Re-signing him to a cheap deal makes a lot of sense when looking at our other options at bringing in new forwards.

What are the chances Tallon goes after a guy like Brad Richards?? We'll have $$ opened up from expiring contracts and we despirately need a 90+ point guy on our team. I would also like to see Reasoner and Dvorak re-signed because they are great Vets and help A LOT on the PK. Higgins isn't a bad forward, and I wouldn't mind re-signing him. If the contract is cheap then I don't see a problem with it. He's a hard worker and creates chances, so I don't see any downside to him.

Hordichuk-Reasoner-Bernier(Duco or Mcardle for toughness)

Markstrom
I'd say the chances are slim. We'll be competing with several other teams to land him.
I think adding Richards would make us a playoff team, but I doubt this organization would be willing to do it because unfortunately this organization would rather sign players for nickels and dimes instead of adding one elite player. Hopefully the All-Star Game convinced the team though that we need to make a splash this offseason considering that we're not only irrelevant in the NHL, we're irrelevant in the SE Division.
Richards isn't happening. I don't know why you guys set yourself up for disappointment. He wouldn't want to come here anyway, if he was going to go to Florida it would be back to Tampa Bay. I still think the Stars re-sign him though and trade someone else like Ribeiro.
Penguins would love to get Higgins or Frolik, maybe both.
I see a price for Higgins above. Do you guys think Frolik could be moved or does your organization find him as part of the solution? What pieces would you want from Pittsburgh?

Come on man what don't you get? It's quality over quantity. We have a ton of 3rd line guys and Wheeler really isn't anything appealing. The intangibles that Weiss brings to the team as well as the things he does on the ice are not worth that kind of stuff.
Weiss is groomed to be our future captain and he has a no-trade clause, so if you're going to go after him you better make sure you blow Tallon away.
Been a fan of David Booth for a while and I think he would be a nice fit in Toronto. Just wondering if Tallon would even consider trading him and what kind of return you think he would be looking for. Just curious, thanks guys.
Ok, who would you want from Boston for Stephen Weiss? David Booth?
To figure out how a team can get Weiss, do the following:
Take a roster player you don't really wanna give up. Now, take a prospect you definitely don't want to give up. Finally, take a pick you really wanted your team to use in this draft and put that on the table with the others.
