Rank the Current Coaches in the League

Hey Guys I know this would be a big list to put together but I would really love to see where all the coaches rank out. To me all of us fans of our teams get our views on our Coach and think the grass is greener on the other side (I hate MacT and would kill to have Lindy Ruff). It would nice to see what all fans take on the coaching ranks are.

well, i dont have the time to do an entire ranking right now (have a lab in half an hour), but you're definately not wrong on a ruff/mctavish swap.

one think to consider is that alot of fans will want one style of coach over another, but whats important is how coaches work with the players they have.

Well said danishh on the style part. Thats why I wouldnt mind getting a good grip on what an overall ranking would be. I will try my hand at one ASAP to get the ball rolling but I am sure I will catch some flack haha.

Carbo would be in the bottom 15.

Babcock most likely number 1.

I dont know about that. Boudreau is coaching one of the better teams in the league. I know they have AO but before he got their they had a really bad team.

I agree with babcock and Trotz. Not so much McCellan because he got handed a Stanley Cup team and on the flip side Gordon has nothing to work with and has been okay.

Why? I can understand an argument that he shouldn't be at the top given the talent he has to work with, but why should he be at or near the bottom? He now has over a year of sustained success at the NHL level, and he single-handedly saved the Caps' season last year.

Please justify this .... and to say that it's simply the talent that's carrying them .... look at Pitt and think again.

If I were starting a team, I think I'd pick Babcock, Quenneville, Lemaire or Hitchcock to coach it.

I dk, he dosen't seem to have much of a plan except get ovechkin on the ice, he seems more like a fat old bald guy tagging along for the ride
Baabcock, has to be #1
I put mcclellan on there because he is using babcock's system, and trotz because he gets the most out of any coach from his teams, Julien seems to have a genius system on the ice
A. Murray seems like a really great coach but his team always has injury or talent problems

He saved it because he was a fresh face and who ever they had wasn't getting them anywhere

In both of your posts you made nothing but false claims with no support other than the fact that Bruce is fat and bald. There's a reason he has been a coach for decades, no matter the level of play. The guy clearly gets it, and while I agree the talent has a large contributing factor to the success of the team. Bruce had A LOT of these guys in Hershey which they went to the finals twice (won once) He's a firm believer in chemsitry .... while he was indeed a fresh face, that's essentially saying any coach would have been able to make a similar turn around.

I apologize for it sounding like an attack, but have some legit support to your statments ....

Saskyoil laughs at these stupid lists:

the BOTTOM 3 coaches have combined for two STANLEY CUP FINALS and a JACK ADAMS award since the lockout. You don't really know what you are talking about do you?

1. Detroit - Babcock. Likeable, respectable,young-ish guy.
2. SJ - Todd McLellan. Seems to bring the right attitude to a team filled with talent
3. Bos - Claude Julien. Somehow I don't think it's Claude that makes the team play well, but he doesn't eff it up either.

... this is taking too long, sorry.

Why not just list the current standings?

Istated that he doesn't have a clear system or plan besides getting ovechkin on the ice

MacT is in the bottom 5 this year for sure. The team has lost respect to play for him you can see it.
