Haha.
I play LW on NHL 09. I've got more career goals than Gretzky, more points than him now.

I'll post this again, without the "OMG YOU OFFENDED MY CHILD" joke.

Arnott and Zanon for Plekanec, Bouillon and a Pick.

OByrne is part of our future and will most likely play in the playoffs this year. I like Morris but not for OByrne.

In that case, Arnott and Hamhuis for Plekanec, Gorges and a Pick (Likely first or second).

You're not picking off a 25 year old with a decent contract for a third string D-man.

If Canucks fall far enough: Mats Sundin + 3rd for Chipchura and 4th.

No he isnt. Isnt that the reason he has problems with Canucks now?

(3) I think he is UFA after this season (can someone confirm?)
(4) Won't cost much in assets to acquire
(5) He plays the point on the PP
(6) Still would be able to go get an extra d-man
Along the same lines I was thinking of Eric Christensen from ATL. He is a tall C that is pretty good of faceoffs and shootouts and the PP. A good skater also. Wouldn't cost much and salary is low.

not really. more mismanagement of the Canucks. He is willing to go with anyone but isn't going to fight for the sake of fighting like some and thats kind of what the Canucks wanted him as.

O'Brien is capable of 18 minutes at least a night. Why would you want him being a fighter first and player second. If you read his interview, he is absolutely correct.

Five fighting majors in half a year are plenty for your 4-5 defenseman.

might be okay if Sundin can regain form. As of now, still looks like absolute crap on the ice.

Gainey's going to go after a defender or do nothing, I think.

I have a feeling that Mathias Ohlund might be an option if Vancouver slides - veteran player, he's not the player he was before, but he's still a top 4 guy and impending UFA - the Canucks don't want him back. O'Brien's bad news, his positioning is terrible and he takes way too many lazy penalties.

Other options...Tom Preissing is a frequent healthy scratch in LA and can probably be had for a late round pick. But he's lackluster defensively and a 6th/7th defender + powerplay specialist at best. Derek Morris makes sense, strong hitter who eats up minutes, and is probably the ideal candidate (after Bouwmeester ), but the Coyotes are messed up financially and desperate for the playoffs.

How about Montreal trying to pick up Owen Nolan from the wild?

Not sure what the asking price would be. Nolan would bring a veteran presence lost when Lang went down. Plus Nolan is a tough Irishmen/Canadian!
