Best Top 9

Boston:

Lucic(28p) - Savard(61p) - Ryder(36p)
Krejci(56p) - Bergeron(20p)- Wheeler(33p)
Axelsson(20p) - Kessel(44p) - Kobasew (25p)

Calgary:

Cammelleri(49p) - Langkow(39p) - Iginla(58p)
Bourque(32p) - Conroy(37p) - Bertuzzi(35p)
Glencross(24p) - Lombardi(20p) - Moss(24p)

Chicago:

Kane(45p) - Toews(39p) - Versteeg(37p)

Ladd(32p) - Brouwer(18p) - Byfgulien(19p)

Detroit:

Zetterberg(44p) - Datsyuk(61p) - Hossa(52p)
Holmstrom(30p) - Hudler(41p) - Franzen(34p)
Samuelsson(33p) - Filppula(24p) - Cleary(25p)

New Jersey:

Parise(59p) - Elias(57p)- Rolston(15p)
Langenbrunner(42p) - Zajac(43p) - Gionta(41p)
Shanahan(4p) - Madden(18p) - Zubrus (29p)

Philadelphia:

Gagne(47p) - Richards (50p) - Knuble (32p)
Hartnell(36p) - Carter (53p) - Lupul(30p)
Upshall(17p) - Briere(9p)- Giroux(4p)

Pittsburgh:

Malkin(79p) - Crosby(69p) - Sykora(39p)
Fedotenko(21p) - Staal (29p) - Satan(31p)
Cooke(19p) - Kennedy(20p) - Dupuis(15p)

San Jose:

Marleau(53p) - Thornton(56p) - Setoguchi(45p)
Clowe(41p) - Pavelski(35p) - Michalek (32p)
Cheechoo(18p) - Goc(9p) - Grier(18p)

Washington:

Semin(45p) - Backstrom(55p) - Ovechkin(68p)
Laich(31p) - Nylander(26p) - Federov(18p)
Steckel(13p) - Kozlov(31p) - Fleischmann(25p)

I know the lines aren't right for all, but I feel that these are the top 9 for the deepest forward groups going into the playoffs. I realize some guys might be injured, but I tried, to the best of my knowledge to put which players would be there come playoff time. Sorry if I didn't put your team there, but I feel these are the deepest forward groups in the league. If you feel the need to add another team, vote other and show the top 9 of that team. The point totals are not to skew the votes in any way. They are there to remind people the kind of years the players are having thus far.

fixed, that took a lot of work for my brain. I know i got things wrong. I'm not going to bother changing the lines, that's not what's important. I'm just trying to get a feel for the top 9 of each team.

Oh man so many of those lines aren't close. Devils, Caps, and Bruins are for sure wrong by a lot.

As for best I'd go with the Wings...

It's pretty safe to say that most lines are going change throughout the season. Some of the guys I listed probably won't be in the top 9 come the playoffs. As I already said, it's to get a feel of the top 9's and what each team is capable of bringing into the playoffs

Sadly, with Musical Chairs McGee behind our bench, you could put any of our 12 forwards in any combination and you'd be right on any given night, on any given shift.

Here you can just copy and paste

Boston:

Lucic(28p) - Savard(61p) - Kessel(44p)
Wheeler(33p) - Krejci(56p) - Ryder(36p)
Axelsson(20p) - Bergeron(20p) - Kobasew(25p)

(not 100% on how Bergeron is being plugged back into the lineup but I'd guess Krejci stays 2nd line ES)

New Jersey:

Parise(59p) - Zajac(43p) - Langenbrunner(42p)
Elias(57p) - Zubrus (29p) - Gionta(41p)
Rolston(15p) - Madden(18p) - Shanahan(4p)

Washington:

Ovechkin(68p) - Backstrom(55p) - Kozlov(31p)
Laich(31p) - Federov(18p) - Semin(45p)
Fleischmann(25p) - Nylander(26p) - Fehr (13p)

Yeah, I get that a lot of teams change their lines but for the most part they dont change much, like the Bruins and Flyers have had pretty similar lines most of the year. If Gagne was on the 3rd line center would you say something? you put other teams 1st line wingers as 3rd line centers...

You're missing the point. It's not the lines that are important here. It's just to see what each team can bring to the table

Then why even use the line format? Why not just list 9 guys? Either way Steckel probably wouldn't be in Washington's top 9. Your experiment makes no sense really, has a team ever gone deep in the playoffs without using all 4 lines?

Ok I'll actually respond to the topic.....

I'm partial to Boston and Detroit personally, maybe a slight edge to the Bruins.

Why does it matter? It's a poll on an internet message board and it's editable.

point-per-game average is important in something like this.
even though it would take all day

I'm surprised more people haven't chosen San Jose or Washington. Those teams have pretty scary forward depth.

Detroit. They may not have the most firepower, but top to bottom those guys play two ways and do it well.
