doesnt matter... Detroit fans who have followed this guy knew something was up when he jumped on his "omg i suck" bandwagon after the Detroit game.

His quotes were reminiscent of the "I cost my team, I wish I were Dead" quotes from the play-offs in Detroit the year they dumped him.

The guy has no confidence and cant be depended on in big games.

yea Legace has been real bad..............but he is a veteran and as a backup is solid i would think

How about what goalie will go to Detroit?..........they need Lehtonen or Toskala and they have some youth they could move for it

Osgood' salary may have to go though or poor Conklin just too many bodies

I think this thread proves not that many people follow the Blues all that much. Legace has not only been brutal on the ice, but has made some very questionable comments to the media. The Blues gave him a last chance against Detroit, and he crapped his pants. Good riddance.

Toskala is a joke and overrated. Toronto can keep their trash. Lehtonen is very small possibility. Unfortunately neither have much/any worthwhile playoff experience.

There are few options out there for detroit look for them to ride 1 of Osgood, Conklin, Howard. Experience O>C>H Skill H>C>O Consistency O>C=H.

None are terribly great options.

The 32-year old Mason told FSN that he attributes his recent string of play to the fact that he feels lighter after getting his eyebrows tweezed and nose hairs waxed on January 15th.

He has played like crap all year. Constantly giving up soft goals, Mason has been streaky and given up some softies as well but at least he has streaks where he's absolutely brilliant. We don't need his attitude either and his comments to the media are a perfect example of why. We have marginal NHL guys filling in and playing their guts out and not one of the skaters don't believe and sure as heck aren't playing like we don't have a shot at the playoffs.

I would be surprised if he gets picked up in all honesty.

I can tell you with near 100% certainty that the Isles are NOT going to pick him up.

I am not saying I agree with their plan, but they are definitely going with Danis and Joey Mac. Danis, in particular, has been phenomenal over he last few weeks. He has a SV% in the .95 range during that mini-winning streak.

Isles have come up in all the recent goalie waiver discussions (Sanbourin, Sanford, etc and please forgive me if I am not spelling names correctly). Each time they failed to show a shred of interest.

Makes you wonder, but I'm not sure the Avalanche pick him up, either. While Budaj and Raycroft have been inconsistent, they do string together some decent games at times.

Just because he was in one All Star game doesn't mean he is an All Star.

And I think he was only there cause every team needs to be represented don't they?

But yeah, I'm glad he's gone. He was good but has been horrible this season.

That's what happens when you go from a 2.41 GAA and .911 SV% to a 3.18 GAA and .885 SV% in a year.

Manny hasn't just been bad this year, he's been a b*tch. He made a lousy comment to the media about the play of our rookie defenseman Roman Polak a while back after a loss, which was in extremely poor taste b/c the kid was our steadiest d-man all year before he got hurt. I've heard reports that he didn't show up to a morning skate on the road during one of his many strings of poor play. He's been whining about not getting a longer extension for 12 months and was clearly insulted that the Blues brought in a guy who had 2 more years on his contract (in Mason) during the summer.

Instead of showing the Blues they made a mistake by bringing in a "backup" with a high-price tag by having a good year this year, he pulled the "woe is me" attitude since training camp and his play reflected that. Management clearly had enough and Detroit was the final straw. Wasn't part of the future, though I admit waiving him is a drastic move. But Manny can give the "I gave my heart to the orginization and this is what they do to me" routine...but the fact is that he wrote his own ticket out of town.
