Legace Waived

Quote:
The Blues placed goaltender Manny Legace on waivers this morning, the Post-Dispatch has learned.
The team will know this weekend whether Legace has been claimed by another team.
If he is not, Legace will be sent to Peoria.
"It's extremely tough," Legace said this morning. "You play your heart out for a team, and the minute you hit a little bit of a rough patch, they dump on you.
Typical Manny!

I hope there's a team near the bottom of the standings that claims him. I doubt Holland would go for it, but I don't want there to even be a chance of Legace ending up back here.

Hopefully he goes to a playoff contender and makes something of it, or maybe to the island to help things there?

I don't know what his cap number is but they could use someone to give Kipper a rest from time to time.

Manny was really pouty when Mason, his backup goalie who makes more than him, got more time than him apparently.
Manny seems like a good guy, but I have heard that he became kind of a cancer in the clubhouse.
Time for Chris Holt to make an appearance.

LA is sick of mediocre goalies, they won't go after Legace.

Legace said he loves this city and the fans and he is disappointed to go. About to cry on the radio.

Wings fans have experienced this before. Next, Legace will talk of hanging himself.

Anyone see an Osgood-esque pattern here?
Bet he goes to the Isles for a couple of seasons, then Holland brings him back to back-up Osgood or whoever we have at the time, and goes on to start us to a Stanley Cup.

You mean an average goalie leaves Detroit and gets exposed as, well, just average? Detroit really can make a goalie look better than he is?!? Say it ain't so!

i always liked him and he's still capable of playing NHL. i hope he finds a team where he can play. but i'm not sure who could use him. islanders maybe, but they should rather try to lose in order to draft high.

Yeah, Osgood was totally exposed.
I mean, when you improve your numbers on an even worse team, it has to mean you are a product of the system.

after the DRW STL game, he said something that reminded me of his comments after the loss to edmonton.

Guys played great and I’m the reason that we lost. I was the worst guy in the NHL tonight.

Man, every time Ive seen Legace let in a soft one, I make a suicide joke. I think I did it twice on that last game against us.
