TEAM1040 in Vancouver is reporting that the Canucks may have picked up Sanderson at the deadline, but things aren't confirmed yet.

Ruchinsky + Sanderson = Great Pickups by the Nucks.

What's going back Columbus' way?

I'm glad Burke got Bergevin, we sorely needed a depth defenceman.

Not to take this too far off topic, but I guess Bertuzzi's DI rating is gonna be pretty low when rerates are done, huh?

I guess Bertuzzi being suspended is going to free up some money for Vancouver. I think Sanderson is expensive, but probably worth it he can score.

Bertuzzi only had 2 goals in the playoffs last year...these are decent pick-ups for the Nucks, but I don't think this will put them over the top.

Just a third round pick? I thought he would be able to get around the same return as Rucinsky.

I agree. It hardly puts them over.. The Nucks do not scare me one bit as long as they are without Bertuzzi and still ride Cloutier. Solid aquisitions none the less, but neither are impact players.

A team still pays the salary of a suspended player, however it goes to the Player's Emergency Assistance Fund, not the player himself.

Craig Button, former Calgary GM, said that in a lot of higher priced contracts there are insurance policies in case the player is suspended. The Canucks will likely be compensated for paying someone for nothng.

when I tried to post a new thread it had that message that couldn't like when you are not a registered user so the only way I could ask for help is through here anyone know what's happening.

anyway, Sanderson won't replace Bertuzzi but he'll be a nice addition.

I thought you were joking, then I read the many other posts here.

These both were terrible moves, IMO. Especially for worthless Sanderson. Burke got hosed. People are partying in the streets; it's Brian Burke Day in Columbus.

You've got to be kidding me.

We all know that Gretzky's illegitimate child with Manon Rheume will be taken with that 3rd rounder.

How is Sanderson "crappy"? He's having an off-year, but he still would rank 5th on the Canucks in goals. He's a pretty solid player, and Burke got him for next to nothing!
