Also, I wonder if JDD will start one of these games. I HIGHLY doubt it. I remember when we dealt Garon and some people said to me "don't worry man, JDD will get a lot more playing time this way". WRONG. I knew it was wrong at the time and I still do. Roli is playing pretty well lately (espically in St.Louis, goes without saying), but he'll need some rest at some point, he always has and this time around he's 39. I would start JDD in Minny IF we win. I know the Minny game is the more important of the 2, but one thing that can't be denied is Roli's disgusting play in St.Paul since he was dealt here.

Anyways, if this team has proven anything this season it's that they play Jeckel and Hyde to perfection. Oil 4 Wings 3.
Anytime they've had confidence after a good victory this season they have come out flat the following game, probably thinking that the opposition was just going to roll over and let the Oilers have their way with them.

WOOOOOOOOOOOO!

To be the team you gotta beat the team.

This GDT is not a kiss stealing, wheeling dealing, jet flying, limosine riding, son of a gun. I don't know what it costs but i'd be ashamed to wear it.

You know when Ric Flair is in town things are taking place.
We have the enforcer Arn "SmackIntyre" Anderson *drags thumb across throat in a slashing motion* but where are the other four horsemen?

Anyway Go Oil!

DET is feeling true weight of what their proverbial pedometer is saying right now.

4-4-2 in their last 10. Holmstrom has just re-herniated his groin and the goaltending has been fishtailing all season long.

This game should NOT be automatically banked into the Red Wings account.

They're just not the same team this year. Not as good, defensivley, at least.

On the other hand...anytime the Oilers go into the penalty box...were in big time trouble.

I suppose today might be just another example of a point or maybe...two...that we REALLY COULD have a chance at...if only we had a teency bit of PK confidence.

To get the lowdown on what's happening during the game, you can check the liveblog out here:

Post game is always best on these boards though.

I want to see them leave it all out there, and play their hearts out. They are clearly out matched, but, to be frank, if they get a point out of this deal, that this a victory for this team imo.

GO OILERS GO!!!

So with Horcoff out do we finally go back to the PP unit that drove results last year? The one that seemingly scored every game and was a treat to watch with actual downlow play and backdoor passes?

Penner - Gagner - Hemsky
Grebeshkov - Souray

Why we never went back to those 3 I'll never understand.

There was a PP with Souray on it last year? Seriously though it will be interesting to see that alignment.

I hope Smid gets some time on the 2nd unit.

The highest scoring team in the league fills our net with seven pucks. Lots of back and forth fighting between Macfire and Macpologists. Kevin Lowe resigns and leaves Bucky in charge.
