carbo should be fired like denis savard was in chicago, but his friend gainey won't fire him.

See, I don't understand this.

Carbo's team has players people on here never cease to criticize, no heart, no grit, no scoring, no anything. Their best scorer is a defenseman and they've been battered by injuries.

Despite this the team has a winning record and a playoff spot.

Either the players are better than given credit for, or Carbo is really a coaching genius.

Either way, firing Carbo when all objective evidence points to him being an excellent coach is ridiculous -- nevermind that he is Gainey's guy.

If we don't make it past the second round, I don't get why he'd be head coach next season.

Damn, I remember this show when I was a kid. It's quite chilling how much it could really apply to the current situation of the habs.

Since we're whining about the quality of the roster while we're saying this, I don't get how it would be his fault.

There's three possible options: the roster is underperforming its potential, it is outperforming it, or it's playing up to it. I am having trouble seeing how the first case would be happening here, which is the only one that would justify firing Carbo.

I'll wait till all the injured come back to make a judgement on this, but if we don't make it past the 2nd round with everyone healthy, there's already a problem (not saying the other team isn't good, but we were there last year and the roster had some new talent injected and has matured since).

But we had almost everybody healthy in november and the team was struggling A LOT.

Well, see, this is the problem right now. This team lost Streit, Huet and Ryder and added Lang and Tanguay. That would've been a significant improvement except that Lang and Tanguay are injured, so the roster right now is worse than last year's even before you figure in the subpar seasons of some of the players that did well last year.

I think expecting this year's team to be, right now, as good as last year's is wishful thinking.

In the playoffs, we should have Tangs back, but Huet and Ryder weren't there last year.

So, a more mature team with Tangs vs. last year's with Streit.

We SHOULD make a serious candidate for the EC final.

Denis Savard was fired because Quenneville is the friend of Tallon. The solution is elsewere, and you know it.

Oh, et by the way, bienvenue sur ma "ignore list".
