New Lines at Practice

Just reek of cluelessness and desperation.

Chris Drury-Scott Gomez-Markus Naslund

Fredrik Sjostrom-Nigel Dawes-Lauri Korpikoski

Ryan Callahan-Brandon Dubinsky-Nikolai Zherdev

Colton Orr-Blair Betts-Aaron Voros

What Z did to be sent to the 3rd line is beyond me. And we also need to try Drury and Gomez together again?

I doubt thats the order in which they'd be deployed. In fact, I really like that Callahan-Dubinsky-Zherdev combination.

Maybe Im thinking this because the Sjostrom-Dawes-Korp line looks so bad on paper

yeah I like Cally-Dubi-Z and something has to go right with Drury-Gomez-Naslund

However Sjostrom-Dawes-Korpikoski sounds like a -10 line to me.

Or you could believe the Andrew Gross version from today's practice. Sounds like someone made a mistake with regards to the center on one of those lines.

"First, though, the lines (with the caveat from Tom Renney that what we saw today might not be what we see tomorrow)

Markus Naslund-Scott Gomez-Chris Drury (let's give this another try)
Ryan Callahan-Brandon Dubinsky-Nikolai Zherdev (Petr Prucha was practicing with this line, too)
Nigel Dawes-Lauri Korpikoski-Fredrik Sjostrom
Aaron Voros-Blair Betts-Colton Orr (Voros makes the drop from first line to fourth line)"

That looks more right. Doesn't Korpedo already have experience at center? Anyway, I really like the Dubinsky line. Cally plays a rough style similar to Voros except Cally can actually skate so that line should mesh well. Duby really needs to get his confidence back and I think that line will be good.

The only reason Drury got moved to Gomez's line is because Gomez is so prone to coughing up the puck, Renney is hoping Drury will cover his ass.

At least the three gutless, cluelss, impotent, and whiny (in Naslund's case) captains are all on the same line..

And love the two worhtless fouth lines with Fredercik (7 points in 75 games) Sjostrom leading the way into nothingness and the imobile Orr-voros pairing wit Betts....

God, this team is in horrible Shape

haha Yeah. If we had a first line of players actually worth 18million we would have a great team.

I like the Cally/Dubi/Z line. Prob be our most productive line...
I dont know what to think of that Sjo/Dawes/Korp line. Hopefully they work well together.

edit: Why not switch Cally with Naslund. Remember how good that Naslund/Dubi/Z line was? Also, That Sjo-Dawes-Korp line should have Prucha in instead of Sjo or Korp. And move the other guy down to 4th line in replace to voros.

I actually like the idea of Z, Callahan, and Dubi together. And I'm glad sjostrom is off the 4th line and voros is on it.

Sather, so he can be traded to a good team where he'll play and do well.

I am telling ya they are going to trade for a 3rd line Centre and keep Drury or Dubinsky on the Wing

it does make sense even though everyone snaps on me and says they don't need another C

what is easier to get a 3rd line C or a top 6 winger?..........thank you

Korp is at center. Up a few posts it talks about a mistake being made in an article about Dawes at center.

I agree 1000000000%. When will Renney realize that voros isint that good!. Also i dont like changing lines all the time. The players need time to get used to their linemates but they cant because they dont know if renney will change them!

Hopefully WHEN (not if) a new coach comes in to replace Renney, they'll realize Prucha should be an everyday player and that Voros and Orr are basically the same except Orr can actually fight and is being paid less money...hmm who to keep between those two. I like the idea of Callahan playing with Z and Dubi a lot. He's a big enery player that can cause havoc on the opposing team while Zherdev dangles the D and scores some goals. Both Dubi and Cally aren't afraid to go in front of the net either so hopefully in the end it all adds up to a successful line. My one problem is that the Dubinsky-Drury-Zherdev line was actually pretty good and showing some signs of chemistry but of course Renney keeps lines together for longer than 2 games!

I would trade Redden for Lombardi. Play him as center. And keep Dubinsky on the wing.

What really hurts this team is we have tons of 7M guys, yet not one true 1st line skater.
