Everybody wins. Dallas adds depth, Lubo gets paid NHL $$$ for sitting in the press box (so basically for nothing, how sweet is that?), fans and coaches don't suffer massive heart attacks from watching him play defense.

I wonder if we get a compensation pick for the signing?

If that's the case, then we should get one for Ronning as well.

I don't know the rules, but if you don't make a qualifying offer or tender them a contract, I'd guess they probably don't get anything back. All the more reason to trade them if you know you don't plan on keeping them.

Yeah, I think you are correct. Oh well, we got enough picks, right TSK?

Every time I watch an Oilers game (which is about 82 times a year), it's always some guy who hasn't scored in months or something getting the goals. You rarely hear "______'s goal streak rises to 10 games with this shot that found it's way past Conklin/Markkanen/Salo" (with the exception of Forsberg...that guy always scores on us). It always seems to be more like "And _______ gets his first goal in 42 games to put them in the lead over the Oilers".

In other words, Dallas fans who think the change of scenery has ignited his offencive output because he scored on the Oilers have another thing comming.
