Would Frolik be available? not 1 for 1 but would the Panthers consider trading him?

No.

At most look for Boyton/Ballard for Higgins and a pick type return.

Higgins automatically goes with Halak and a 2nd rounder. Florida cannot get him without the others.

Probably not. Him and Booth are the only untouchables on the Panthers imo.

HFBoards (in general) may be out of synch with the Habs' management on Higgins... the frequency of his name popping up in this forum probably dramatically exaggerates his actual availability. I don't see the Habs trading him. He's a core young player, and his value probably is below its peak, there is no real motivation to trade him, he fits his role on the team very well.

Agreed. Having said that, Nathan Horton would look good in a Habs' uniform.

Plekanec, Higgins and Mathieu Carle for Weiss and Ballard.

You can have Bouillon too if you want.

Horton for Higgins +, but that's like downgrading for Florida.

Ballard would be good. I don't remember if he has an offensive ability, or if he's just a defensive defenceman.

With Tanguay set to come back soon and Lats to be back before the playoffs, Montréal is still in need to add another defenceman. A forward as well would be nice, but a d is the main issue.

Another thread hijacked on how to steal from the Panthers There would have to be A LOT added to Higgins if you guys want a return like Ballard or Frolik, which is unlikely because those two arent going anywhere.

I don't think that Horton is better than Higgins to tell you the truth. He's also having a pretty tough season himself in Florida. What shocks me most is how little he uses his big frame, with only 58 hits all season.

Sorry, but Horton is a lot better than Higgins IMO. I cant see how Higgins could have anywhere near the value of Horton ATM, considering Horton is two years younger, and Higgins has a whopping 11 points this season.

My bad, I should've mentioned "realistic" trade proposals. Ballard is our best defensemen behind JayBo. And honestly, I would've traded Jokinen for Ballard alone I think he's that good.

I thought a few weeks ago, Canadiens fans wanted to just dump Higgins? Maybe I'm wrong.
