Nice, if it succeeds I'm guessing it will really help groom some of the young quebec players. Keep them focused on the right things (school, work ethic, etc)
Isn't that what Jr.AAA is for? A tier 2 league that lets you keep NCAA eligibility.
Yep, but I guess that's the way they found to bring the Junior AAA back to school, instead of working with the league already in place, they figured they would just create a new one. I wish the league te best of luck because I think school and hockey should go hand-in-hand at that age and that level of hockey, however I don't agree with the competitions between league
I don't understand why New Brunswick (St-Thomas, Moncton and UNB) and Quebec (McGill, Trois-Rivières and Concordia) both have 3 teams. Same goes for the woman's, until his year there was only Moncton who had a french speaking university in the whole CIS system and if I am not mistaken Montreal has a team as of this year.

Why would Quebec not have 3 teams?
I don't see how they are going to get players from other parts of Canada to come and play at these schools with the whole language issue....best of luck.
I was actually wondering if we would ever offer this option to young players looking to combine studies and hockey at home. Any idea on who will host teams?

so far i heard not 100% sure
-Cegep d'Alma
-Cegep St-Therese
-College St-Lawrence in quebec city
the maybe list
-Cegep Levis (just outside quebec city)
-probably 1 or 2 anglophone school in montreal (dawson and ????)
Well you just need to check the women college hockey league and those college and cegep would prolly be the ones to host a team because they already have the experience so check these out to be named.

There are alot more players comming out of the Q from french speaking Quebec than from the french speaking New Brunswick. I don't see how Laval, Montréal, UQAM.... could not have teams, those universities are more than 3-4-5 times bigger than Moncton. Moncton more and more is getting players from NB, althought about 5 years back there were only 3 guys from New Brunswick, but where are all the Quebec players going after the Q? Europe? ECHL? Senior? Alot of players are doing the Dominic Noel move, where they have lived in a french community all their lives, spent 12 grades in a french school and then went on to study in english at Dalhousie.

Great news, I hope it's going to last and be competitive... The Q and the CHL are ruining way too many young men (boys also) career to help a extreme minority achieve their dream...
Les sept autres équipes intéressées à se joindre à la ligue sont celles des Collèges André Laurendeau, Champlain-St-Lawrence, Édouard Montpetit, Laflèche, Lionel-Groulx, Saint-Laurent et Sorel-Tracy.
Andre-Laurendeaux
College St-Lawrence (qc city)
Edouard-monpetit
Lafleche
Lionel-Groulx
Saint-Laurent
Sorel-Tracy
Alma
noted: im surprised to not have 1 anglophone school in this new league....

I just don't get how it will work long term....if this is suppose to be a stepping stone to the NCAA on top of it. Language, sucks really, could be a major issue. You are not likely to get some anglaphone kid from the prairies to come here to go to a french cegep.

Hope it works as it is an interesting idea.
it can be a stepping stone to the ncaa but more the cis imo because if it was a real stepping stone for the ncaa they would have had at least 1 anglo school
Is it english? I thought the only english CEGEPS are:
CHAMPLAIN REGIONAL COLLEGE
DAWSON COLLEGE
CÉGEP DE LA GASPÉSIE (ENGLISH SECTOR)
HERITAGE COLLEGE
JOHN ABBOTT COLLEGE
MARIANOPOLIS COLLEGE
VANIER COLLEGE
