How Long Can Bob Wait?

At what point in a season, can you let a team flonder?

or go up and down faster then a hooker's skirt?

this team has no , what could I call it? Balance? Drive? Trademark?

Bob seems to patient for me now, yeah 2-3 years back, i agree wait, but it is not going up, and that seems to be a problem....

comments???

he probably tried to do something but he couldn't... Maybe he tried to sign Hossa but he didn't wanted to sign here. Maybe he tried to make a blockbuster trade but there's nothing he can do (is there any trading in this league anymore?)

good point, but if he failed in the ufa, which he has, not his fault, then step up , and make that trade,

or we are the same team again, as we were last year.

well, there's just no trading in this league anymore. What do you want him to do? I don't even think there's an opportunity to make a trade right now. I think many teams would have traded already if it were possible, including us.

The standings are very thight at this point. When some teams start to fall way behind the 8 spot we will see players getting trade.
I also think teams are asking to much in return

Besides picking up another defenseman, Montreal really doesn't need to deal. The team Montreal has can get the job done, its just getting it done that is the problem. Hopefully this roadtrip pushes them in the right direction.

I agree. But how can you get another D without making a deal?

Bob is about to make a deal to acquire Alex Tanguay. Stay tuned, a possible ppg player is coming in.

Honestly, did you look at what might be available before starting that thread? Do you really think that acquiring a Gaborik or a Kaberle will take this team out of its slump? We already have the players to get out of it, it's just a matter of time, work and patience.

As long as the team continues to sell out all of their home games everything is good...

And where would you get him? How good will he be? There's absolutely no guarantee that he will be a better addition than post-callup O'Byrne. And looking at what teams are selling, I doubt we find anything better right now anyway.

If you are selling an asset, and know that desperation from other GMs will occur at the deadline, what is the incentive to sell early?

Maybe Bob would like to, but the sellers are wating...as expected. Its called a 'deadline' for a reason.

Hard to make a trade when every team in the West is still vying for a playoff position. It might not be that BG is waiting, he may have no other choice. I'm sure GMs in the East who are out of the playoffs right now, are waiting to see what they may get from a desperate team in the West.

There is no guarantee the new defenseman is good but Bouillon/Brisebois is not going to get the job done. We are going nowhere with these two defessemen.

Not sure I would want him making a trade now as he is not trading from a position of strength as the team is on a bad run....could be seen as a panic move.

I think a trade will happen this week.

The rumours in the media were that a trade was MADE yesterday. Obviously not the case, but there is alot of talk around the inner circles.

No we are worse because last year we were scoring, playing solid D, and Winning Games. WE aren't doing any of that. Thats why a trade must happen if there should be any hopes of fighting for the cup (which I think at this point is a pipe dream)
