Our Biggest Rival

With the playoff run last year, we had a couple rivalries reborn. Who do you think is our biggest rival?

Right now, I'd probably say San Jose. Just seems every time we play them, a hatred comes out.

2nd (and a close one) would be Detroit followed up by Anaheim in a distant 3rd (though I still hate them with a passion).

The mini ones would probably be Nashville, Los Angeles, and Edmonton for me.

most likely SJ, I don't dislike the Wings like I did in the late 90s early 00s. I don't feel the Stars have any strong rivals anymore. Nothing was better than Edmonton in the playoffs though

Too bad Dallas and Nashville didn't meet up in the playoffs a couple years ago when the Tootoo incident happened.

Could've become a really really good rivalry.

yeah I'd have to say San Jose is the biggest rival at the moment, followed closely by Detroit and Anaheim.

I think there's a bit of potential with Columbus and Los Angeles - the fan bases seem to go at it often enough and there's been some really physical games played between the teams

I'm not as scared of San Jose as I am with Detroit. I wouldn't call either a rivalry per say. I believe the closest the Stars have now is the Canucks due to that playoff thriller and the cheapshots to Morrow. I dunno.

As for fanbase, I agree Columbus and Los Angeles is up there because they are so annoying.

Yeah, I don't feel a big rivalry against anyone. I don't know why, but it doesn't seem like there are a lot of rivalries nowadays. Maybe the parity means we can't be 1st while edmonton is 8th or 2/7 as much, which makes it that much harder to continue that rivalry. The avs aren't good, and we don't like playing Detroit but I'm sure they're apathetic about us.

I don't hate the Canucks anywhere near as much as I hate just Luongo himself.

Maybe if we played them in another series, I would hate the team like I did the Oilers back in the day, but ehhh I just don't for some reason.

Anaheim was the team I hated the most, until we knocked them off last season. Guess I had a little grudge from 03. That said, if we played them in another series, I would be more than happy to hate them again.

I would love it if someday the Stars swept Columbus in their first playoff series ever. It would be difficult to match up against them in the first round though.

It's always been San Jose in my mind. There was last year, and the previous few of regular season action, but there was also the time back in the late 1990s that I absolutely despised that team with Ricci, Nolan, Marchment and McSorely among others.

Colorado has been there as has Detroit. Edmonton is as well, though for me it's been a relationship of mutual respect. San Jose was the only team that I have ever intensely disliked long enough to warrant the moniker of, 'Our Biggest Rival.'

I would say Nashville has the most rediculous fans...the booing of Modano shows that they should stick to NASCAR. The Sharks are probably the best rivalry we have right now mainly due to the recent divisional fights. Back in the golden years (98-2000) those playoff series with the Avs and Oil made for some pretty legit rivalries...has there ever been a more intense 4 game sweep than Dal/Edm in 99?

From a personal hatred it would have to be Nashville with the tutu (yes I know it is spelled wrong) incident and the booing of Modano. I could definitely see something in a few years with Columbus, they are like the little ankle biting dog....just won't go away. As for now I guess it would have to be San Jose by default...not that I particularly hate them (I do like the way team goes about its business) but it always seems all roads lead back to the sharks.
