Good small rpg games??

By small I mean preferably under 100MB in size. I have an old laptop w/ not a lot of space on it right now. So any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Can't go wrong with Eastside Hockey Manager Freeware. As for other games...Civ 2!

hmmm, tough to find a game that small. balders gate was good, but i think that installed around 500 megs and that was 10 years ago. I don't know if you can find a computer game that small. do a google search for quest for glory 1, that may be very small and it was a pretty good game. it's basically abandonware now so you should be able to find it for free.

yeah, just google 'abandonware' and you should find a bunch of old RPG and adventure games that are under 100meg.

you might need DOSBox to run some/all of them, tho.

Don't listen to anybody else!

Tales of Game's Presents Chef Boyardee's Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden, Chapter 1 of the Hoopz Barkley SaGa

Quote:
The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic New York called "Neo New York", after a "chaos dunk" causes the death of millions.

Twelve years prior to the game, Charles Barkley, in an attempt to impress his son Hoopz Barkley, performs a Chaos Dunk -- and inadvertently kills almost everyone present. As a result, basketball was made illegal and nearly all great players were killed in "The Great B-Ball Purge of 2041" (a.k.a "B-Ballnacht")
Best part is it's absolutely free.

Wow, 100MB is cutting it tight. What you're looking for is either Indy games or old abandon ware RPG's. Try these two sites:

http://www.gametunnel.com/rpg-game-reviews.php
There are some good Indy games out there, usually they cost a bit of money, but are usually small in size. I have two games from here:
- The Spirit Engine 2. This is a great unique little RPG actually, at 200MB. Well worth a purchase.
- Eschalon: Book 1. Not as good but has a decent old-school CRPG feel to it. If that's your type of game then it's probably worth it.

http://www.abandonia.com/en/game/RPG/sortby%3D2
I'm not sure exactly how it works, but after ten years the copyright can come off games and they become 'abandoned', or public domain. This site holds a huge collection of older PC games, all legal and free.

Might want to give some more detail on what style of RPG games you like. There are a lot of freeware character-based games in very small footprints like NetHack and ULarn.

Many of the older great RPG games have been packaged up and re-released over the years in anthologies. Some can still be found in the store bargain bins, others probably on eBay pretty cheap. I know I have anthologies of Might & Magic, Wizardry and Ultima boxed up somewhere around the house here. You have to tweak DOS setups for many of them.

Lastly there are various open source / freeware original games and re-implementations of classic games available like Dungeon Master.

Not the freeware. That game is the easiest thing ever to play.

Awesome, thanks!

Although I'm quite enjoying my lines of Gagne - Sakic - Selanne and Malhotra - Lecavalier - Palffy with Brodeur in net and MacInnis and Chara on the back end.

Cheater's tip:

During the preseason, young goalies with potential will gain a full point in their Overall every game they play. The trick is to save after every preseason game, exit the program, and then load the save until after the next game. It also works well with non-goalies, but goalies are consistent in their ability to improve dramatically.

If you like football then Goal Line Blitz is a really fun, browser-based (no memory taken at all) mmorp.

You build a football player how you want and join user owned teams to try and win championships and have the best stats.

check it out: http://goallineblitz.com/game/signup.pl?ref=10313301
