Coburn

Just had a nightmare that Coburn got traded to LA for a 3rd round pick... no joke.

This had me wondering, with the deadline coming up and the talk of bringing in big players (J Bo, Cam Barker, Niedermeyer etc. etc.) is Coburn trade bait? Or is he the "mike richards" of the defense, as in something to build around?

Please silence my fears

I love him.

Edit: I'm sorry i guess this would go in the trade deadline discussion, can you merge it please? or just delete this.

I thought it was quite apparent Brayco is an untouchable.

He has lower value right now anyways, no point in dealing him.

Id rather see Coburn play the rest of his days in Orange and Black as an overpaid number three than some other hack.

At least he cares and tries.

Hear me Homer?! Dont trade this kid like that other bloke in Atlanta did.

He's going to play decently for the rest of his contract, and after we re-sign him to a bargain contract for 10 years he will play like god!

we definitely could get lucky if he wants to sign long term to a deal valued at his play this season. six years at 13mil

No, we definitely can't. Coburn's next contract will pay him at least $3-3.5M per year.

You can't possibly guess the market factors in play at the end of next season. You also can't possibly guess how he will play next year. That salary guess is really pre-emptive especially with the cap expected to decrease soon. I can't say you're far off really, but you never know what could happen. His re-signing is still at least a year away.

I had a similar experience. Google reader gave me an article from the flyers.nhl.com titled "Flyers recall Munroe, Nödl" or something like that and I thought "Oh ****, more injuries?" until I read the next few items and realized that their RSS was acting up and sending me old articles.

I doubt he will be dealt but if a player like JayBo is on the table he could certainly go in a package. That being said, I think he'll be a Flyer for a long time.
