Hejduk, Wolski, Svatos, and Hensick have been invisible tonight.

Preds will likely lose, but the Kings have a point so far...going to OT with the Islanders.

Will our GM showed that losing is not acceptable in our team, or is it the "new norm??""

I might have spoken too soon about the Preds...down 3-2 in the second.

Our GM? Reward stinky players with compliments.

For the life of me, I can't stand the "stand pat" or "do nothing" policy.

Well, I guess at least we aren't Canadiens or Rangers fans. We really have nothing expected from this team, and eventough I didn't expect our team to be THIS BAD, at least we have "injury" excuse, and "rookie" coach excuse.
That's because you still expect this team to be able to compete for a playoff spot when it's highly unlikely that they could even completely healthy.

Let's say just for fun that PLFG has already come to this conclusion 4 weeks ago, what exactly would you like him to do??? Acquire some established talent in exchange for what? Unless you're willing to move YOUTH or PICKS, whatever you'd trade to plug one hole would open up another. So, if PLFG has already come to the same conclusion, the only logical move is to stand pat and wait until March 4th and get the most for whoever is deemed expendable.

Hi there...

I don't expect a trade, but I expect the GM to say something in effect that "losses are not acceptable", or " they have to play better". Call out on players. Just because fans like you accept this is a lousy team that doesn't fight, I don't have to accept the mediocre.

Unlike you, I don't like the idea of "tanking".

Well, some good news for those of us hoping for the best pick possible: the Avs will be 5th last in the league (aka in the lottery) if the Leafs and Blues both hold on to win their games tonight.

Ah well with that, I think you'll continue to be disappointed for quite some time or at least until the Pierre Lacroix regime is gone completely. It isn't something that the people within this organization are prepared to do. Anything involved with 'admitting mistakes or calling a spade, a spade' are not part of their lingo. Personally, I don't have a problem with it because I'm quite certain that it's just their own brand of propaganda used to never show any weakness. They want to make sure that the fanbase keeps on believing we are Stanley Cup contenders when it's clear we are no such thing. Obviously, these are attempts at trying to brainwash not the AVID, HARDCORE fans (which most of us regulars on these boards clearly are) but to try and convince the average fan that everything is going to be alright.

We could be holding the 5th overall pick after tonight!

Edit* 6th overall I think because we would have the tiebreaker on Toronto.

Yes indeed.

And now the Avs travel straight into Minnesota to play a very nicely rested Wild team.

Joy.

I think we'll be 25th if the Blues win.
I think we'll still be ahead of the Maple Leafs if they win, cuz we'll still have more wins.

Well, Oils closed out 2006/2007 with how many straight lossess?
With 10/12 games on the road, how many losses would Avs mount?

Seriously, someone in GM office is smoking weed. How are you going to sell season tickets/ game tickets or offer UFA with this type of products next season???

I won't be surprised if we will be part of "revenue sharing" team pretty soon.

Ummm not so much. Instead of a quick rebuild, the organization was torn apart by 'hockey men' who had no business making those types of decision. Horrible trades sent this organization down to the NHL basement for 4 straight years.

- Dale Hunter for Alan Haworth, Gaetan Duchesne & 1st round pick (15th)*
- Peter Stastny for Craig Wolanin & Randy Velischek ?
- Michel Goulet for Everett Sanipass, Mario Doyon & Dan Vincelette ??

* The Nordiques were extremely lucky to pick Joe Sakic with the 15th pick. I bet the scouting staff probably wanted to draft Stephane Quintal instead. (picked 14th right before Sakic by Boston)

In 1989-90, the Nordiques had 31pts !! (12 wins) The next worse team had more than DOUBLE their points total! (Vancouver 64pts) <- So please excuse me if I don't cry a giant river for the Avs current woes.
