Even those guys rarely get it right. There's an awful lot more speculation being thrown around (even by those 2), then actual fact.
But they make it clear when it is speculation. They don't report on a rumour unless it's legit. McGuire, on the radio in Montreal, frequently hints at rumours but says he can't give more information due to confidentiality. And he's almost always correct. Just recently I can remember him saying that the Pens would be making a deal soon for goaltending help. Couldn't elaborate, but the next day Garon was traded to Pittsburgh. Just shows that the real connected, credible journalists don't throw BS out like "RICHARDS TO MONTREAL!!!!"...They'll be alot more vague.
