Vladimir Mihalik

Does he still hold top 4 potential and a job in the NHL at some time? Also, does he have offensive upside to his game? Is he showing more of a mean streak this year, I know in past years he was labelled as soft any info is much appreciated.

Very little offense in his game outside of being giant and therefore having a somewhat scary slapper.

Still soft. Also looked a bit lost out there. A clip from boltprospects:

7.) D Vladimir Mihalik, Norfolk (AHL)
Vladimir Mihalik has all the athletic ability he needs to have a long NHL career in his 6'8" frame, but the 6" of gray matter between his ears remain in question. To put it another way, if Szczechura has a double doctorate in hockey, then sometimes it feels like Mihalik is still working on his GED. His failure to consolidate his developmental gains since last season has been extremely frustrating to watch, as it appeared that the monsterous Slovakian had figured out the little things positionally and in terms of managing his gaps. If he could refind that part of his game, there's no doubt he'd be a beast defensively. But, for now, we're downgrading our projections for Mihalik and he's opened the door for other prospects to potentially pass him by on the depth chart.

Mihalik has stepped up his play the last few games... He has actually been in position and he has gotten very physical. He has been complete checks & even gotten into and WON a fight. for us Admiral fans, this was a huge deal as Mihalik has been crappy all year here. The only problem is, he plays a phsyical game one game and then the next he his back to his old ways.

Well that is good news then cause he has never taken the chances in Tampa and with a lot of the other prospects playing better he has fallen in the ranking.

Mihalik still has every bit of top four defenseman potential, and I say even top 2 defenseman potential still. He has seen very limited NHL action and just did turn 22 years old. For a player of his size and potential you have to be patient. Patience will be the key, sticking it with him could pay off big, just as the Isles about some big guy named Zdeno they rushed and dealt away so stupidly.
