Scouting the Canucks

Vancouver has won only twice in the last three games, so the Blues have a chance to pick up some more points in the conference race.

Yeah, that makes sense.

Not to steal some thunder here but I thought I'd link another EJ related article here

http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/rou...nson-answered/

Heres a snippet:

Quote:
Q: What was the best piece of advice you were given after you were injured about dealing with not playing, rehab, coming back, etc.? Who did the advice come from?

EJ: I got a lot of advice. But the best piece of advice I got was from my dad, Bruce. He said that a lot of people will naturally doubt my abilities now and say I won’t be the same and might not be the player I am supposed to become because of my knee. He told me to take those people’s thoughts to the rink with me everyday and have it drive me to work my butt off to shut up any of those doubters … and just say to myself, “I’ll show them.”

And I am going to. Not this or anything will slow me down. I have such a strong desire to succeed and win.
Answers like that are why I'm confident that EJ will come back and be a force. He may have to alter his game some depending on the knee but he will find a way to be the best.

Any chance EJ will be joining us in this playoff run? I haven’t heard anything in a while.

I would say its pretty doubtful. I haven't heard anything in a while either, but last I did hear made it sound like EJ could do backflips into JD's office on the first day of the second season and still wouldn't see the ice until the beginning of training camp.

I read it somewhere that EJ said that even if the Blues were to make the playoffs he is done for the year and will be focusing on returning next year. If I can find it I will link it.

That said, if it was to become a reality I think the temptation to go back on his word depending on his progress has to be great.

http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/mor...bout-his-knee/

Quote:
“That’s what I thought in November, but then I saw (his doctor) at the end of December,” Johnson said. “He said you’ll probably be able to start skating at the end of February. I didn’t really think much of it. When I checked again, he said, ‘Yeah you can skate.’ I was like, ‘Great.’ I guess that means I’ve rehabbed well. My knee is getting better.”

Johnson has no plans of playing this season, even if the Blues were to make the playoffs.
since it isn't a direct quote, take it with a grain of salt.

If E.J can't make it back for at least 5 games of the regular season then I don't think it would be wise coming off an injury to start him in the playoffs. That's how players get really HURT.
