A simple "Thanks" would have been nice.

Former Buckeye A.J. Trapasso ran in a fake punt for a TD to give Houston a 7-0 lead.

Huntington Park is a nice park. Very good view from our seats on the right field line. Too bad the Clippers couldnt get going til late in the game to make it a 12-8 loss to Buffalo. Being down 12-2, Clips made it a little more respectable.

The Park's website says kids under 12 are 3 bucks...but a one year old should get in free...I'd give them a call.

Yeah, I saw that and Ticketmaster has tickets for those under 12, but even Masonwide allows under 2 years old for free. I shot them an email to inquire. Thought maybe someone knew for sure.

Huntington Park is better than the new Yankee Stadium

Quote:
The website BaseballParks.com rated all 12 new and renovated ballparks, from both major and minor league teams, and selected Huntington Park in Columbus as the best. The park, which cost $42 million to build, beat the $1.5 billion Yankee Stadium along with Citi Field and the renovated Kaufmann Stadium. So our AAA park is better than the Yankees and Mets major league park!

Funny how life works, isn't it?

But he'll always have that memory with Houston, and it was an exciting one. It also came in Ohio nonetheless, since it was the HoF Game.

(And on a side note... yeah, I know where they're located, but those unis... it's hard NOT to say Houston! I guarantee I'll call them Houston again when they do it later this season.)

I went to my first crew game in probably 9 years on Saturday. It was a great experience. Loved the crowd in the corner in our scoring end in the second half. Some of the Blue Jackets fans need to take notes from them. They were into the game and chanting the entire game...once of the reasons I like watching soccer.

One of my friends is dating a crewzer and he gets to go to the home games so I'm gonna try to go with him to the rest of them now. I'm definitely into soccer again.

It'll be interesting to see how the Crew does in this Champions League they are in with other CONCAF teams. Anyone (DJA?) know how well the MLS rep usually does in these things?

Usually not well. There are several theories as to why. Chief among them, the MLS sides tend to play their reserves and rest their starters for the MLS match later in the same week.

Jackets sign a deal with the Indians
http://bluejackets.nhl.com/team/app/...ticleid=479845

Quote:
The Columbus Blue Jackets and Cleveland Indians have joined forces to form a marketing alliance to engage sports fans across Ohio with the opportunity to experience the excitement of the National Hockey League and Major League Baseball, the clubs announced August 18.

The basis of the partnership includes:

* Shared advertising and hospitality elements
* Special ticket offers to each team’s fan base
* In-arena and stadium entertainment presence for select games at each team's venue
* Media exposure across broadcast partner channels
Can only be good to have additional exposure. Who knows perhaps the Indians can help get the Jackets on STO in a few years when their horrid contract expires.

Oh, and Steve Mason is throwing out the first pitch at the Indians game Sept 6

Quote:
On Sunday, September 6, Blue Jackets goaltender Steve Mason, the 2009 Calder Memorial Trophy winner as NHL rookie of the year and Second Team NHL All-Star, will be on hand to throw out the first pitch prior to the game vs. the Minnesota Twins.at 1:05 p.m. Mason will also take part in the Indians Signature Sunday autograph session with High Achievers Kids Club members before the game and visit the WKYC-3/SportsTime Ohio TV and Indians Radio Network broadcast booths during the game. The Indians will also have a presence at Nationwide Arena during the Blue Jackets season prior to the Tribe's 2010 campaign.

99% of Indians fans - "Who is Steve Mason?"

TW and Skraut -

Joking of course, and I suppose this is a good idea, as long as I'm not inundated by Tribe junk at Jackets games.

No association with the Indians works out for anyone until they end that association.

For example: CC Sabathia, Manny Ramirez, Jim Thome
Pending example: Cliff Lee

This.

And the MLS teams never want their players playing on some of the crummy fields that some of these other teams play on. And the attendance for these events is always dreadful because the Puerto Rico Islanders coming in to play at Crew Stadium is not exactly like Celtic heading into the Emirates...
