I wish they wouldn't have done the chilli chant after every three.

I don't know why OSU games in Dayton have to kowtow to CBJ traditions.

Beautiful.

Anyways, I'm no grammer genius, but these two errors were bad.

Not even going to act like I know anything about basketball, but when Mullens and Lauderdale were a combined 8/9 from the field, why was the ball not ever touching the ball on offensive sets in the second half or two overtimes? Also we seemed like we knew how to break that trap but once we crossed the timeline, Turner/Hill would pick up there dribble and get double teamed. I dont know much about bball but those were just a couple things i noticed

When Mullins and Lauderdale combine for fewer rebounds than P. J. Hill gets, neither should ever complain about touches or playing time! Both have talent and potential, but neither is a big-time college center, yet. Sadly, the financial picture will certainly cause Mullins, at a minimum, to turn pro. He'll probably spend time in the Development League or Europe, but at least he'll be getting paid. On the other hand, we'll watch the women's team play together and grow for the next several years. Wish it were the same in the men's game, but those days are long gone!

I am so caught up in hockey, that I find myself not giving a flying dutchman about basketball.

NCAA? Yawn. Freshmen rule it, not quite playing up to their potential, and then leave. Not even knowing the guys on the team year-to-year because of defections. rinse/repeat. SUCKS.

NBA? 4 guys stand around and one guy makes a move and shoots a jumper. Timeouts that last 5 minutes, 5x a quarter. SUCKS.

And this is a big deal for me, because I played college hoops, and have spent thousands and thousands of hours playing and/or watching. But, honestly, I have just about given up on caring.

I went to the Cavs/Blazers game Thursday night. LeBron had a triple double, home team wins, Greg Oden plays, should be awesome, right? I was so bored...

I, too, used to be a huge basketball fan. In addition to the things you listed, other complaints of mine start with 18-year olds coming into the league. Watching these kids still learning how to play the game on the floor with 10 and 15 year veterans bores me. Yeah, I know all about Lebron, but he is by far the exception. And, in both college and the NBA, the lack of enforcement of the rules, and the constant parade to the foul line at the end of the game sucks the life out of it for me.

Add in the showboating, and I've just about given up on basketball.

End of grumpy old man rant.

My fiancee graduated from Marietta, and Muskingum was right in my backyard when I lived in Zanesville.

Oh man, can't stop laughing.

Watching the NCAA Frozen 4 tournament.

Vermont is up on Yale 4-0 with a 1:40 left in the 3rd.

The announcer says "And how must (the Vermont Goalie) feel. A true freshman in his first tournament game, and he's going to get a shutout"

JUST as the announcer is finishing the word Shutout, you hear the sound of the puck hitting the post, and it trickles in the net killing his shutout. The announcer never called the player taking the shot.

Watched Maryland vs Virginia lacrosse today. Virginia wins it.......in the 6th overtime. Can definately relate to the Terp's frustration: had a game-winning goal negated by an errant whistle.

Just using your quote cuz it has Mullens in it, Pete.

But he's gone pro. Didn't average double figures in points or rebounds.

Another forgettable 7 foot freshman leaves OSU after a year of not meeting expectations.

Lets get rid of the 1 year rule, so I don't have to watch players like Mullens who aren't ready for college go straight to the NBA D-league and struggle there.

I think they are on at 9 EDT. The Deuce is screwed up today...the schedule they sent to the cable/sat operators has the game at 5:30 but it's not on until later according to the pre-game broadcast.

EDIT: Guess not. Go Bucks.

I wish they'd do with Basketball and Football what they do with Hockey. The pro's get to draft the players rights at 18, but the player isn't required to "go pro" until they're actually ready. So guys like Koufus and Mullens could still be drafted, but then the NBA teams can tell them to park their unrefined arses in the NCAA until they need them.

OSU just fell behind 1-0. Melrose is pretty tough on the OSU keeper for not making that save either.
