I really don't see a line of Gagne-Giroux-Knuble getting first line minutes anyway. If Richards isn't 100% but can still play, then he'll have to play 3rd line minutes, and Carter's line gets first line minutes, while Gagne and his line fill the secondary scoring role. I don't think Stevens would be stupid enough to put Giroux in that first line center slot. Those are big shoes to fill, and you don't put a rookie RW in them.
Since many people suggested to change the title to a player, I will vote for that.

It's not like Stevens is going to leave him with Upshall and Powe for the rest of the season.
I also agree with this. I'd be worried if this was a permanent thing, but I think we all know it's not.
didnt Richards lose nearly 10 pounds because of the flu?
I dont care what you give him to help him get the weight back hes going to take some time to get his legs back. I have no problem putting him on the 3rd line until he gets his hockey legs back. Alot of overreaction again.
Mike Richards admits he is still feeling sluggish on the ice because of his week-long bout with the flu, which has cost him three games. Coach John Stevens said he will monitor Richards’ ice time Wednesday against Ottawa. Richards is playing with Scottie Upshall and Darroll Powe. “I haven’t been sick for years,” Richards said, adding he is “slowly” getter better. …
Guys keep in miknd that Richards and Upshall both lost like 10lbs with the flu and are not in game shape at all. Thats why they get some reduced minutes till they get up to speed.
