There is a problem with media because with every year that comes and goes, there is one more year of entertainment in the books and it accumulates. I don't think I will ever watch every great movie that ever comes out.

I'm only 23. I only got around to watching Citizen Kane a few months ago, and I'd guess that less than 1% of 23-year-olds with access to it have watched this movie which is often regarded as the best of all time.

They don't have this year's up yet. But its the first full weekend in june. Check out the picture section though, goes back quite a few years. I look forward to it every year, been going since 99. If you like WWII history it's one of the best places to meet vets and see the weapons, including tanks, planes, artillery, vehicles. Family friendly. PM me about it if you like.

Evgeni Malkin on Flyers fans...

Linkage

Quote:
Not long ago ESPN had a survey where 24% of players surveyed said that the Philadelphia Flyers have the most disruptive fans. Have you ever been, even a little, afraid of Flyers fans?

I agree with the players [who named Flyers fans]. I can't say that I am afraid of them though. Although I do remember one game in Philadelphia last year when we had popcorn thrown to our bench by Flyers' fans, other garbage. Thank god there were no bottles thrown. And their fans also jump on the glass behind the bench, or behind the glass. People don't behave that good there. I have never seen anything like this anywhere. And this survey showed that other players noticed it too. I am surprised by those fans. But I understand that they are just supporting their team.

If you stick to the AFI listings, it's not a bad start. Best picture winners. If you get the Turner Classic Movie channel there, it's also an excellent source for old good movies. The indie channel is also good for somethings, though has a lot of total crap though. I find that not alot of great movies are coming out now, maybe 2 or 3 a year. The rest are pure action or comedy. I go to movies often and usually tell if I like a movie from the trailers(though comedies doesn't always work, since they might be the only funny scenes). Some great movies are not even popular, Shawkshank Redemption is probably the best movie of the 90s, and almost nobody saw it. Btw, the first old movie referenced in Shawshank called "gilda" is a really decent movie as well. When people ask me what movies they need to see I usually take a while to get back to them, but have a pretty long spreadsheet of classic movies that they will like and are great. Though some people just don't like old black and white movies. For instance, halloween time, go with Todd Browing's Freaks, it's from the 30s and uses actual circus freaks, and has a good message about the inner quality of people.

I will say it for the 476th time....This team plays pond hockey. They jump over the bench and try to improvise. No. Organization. At. All.

Why do you think that the only time this team looks is when it is on the powerplay??? Because it is the only time any type of organization and strategy is implemented, and guess who is NOT the coach implementing those strategies???

This team is EASILY the 4th best team in the NHL (behind Detroit, SJ and Bos) with a better coach....and Briere.

I don't know where to bring this up, and I don't think I noticed it before last night...

But Lupes played out of his mind last night. Nobody could move him off the puck. Nobody. It didn't translate into results, but most of the battles he went into, he was the one with the puck. I saw a few guys try and body him off the puck and he definitely dropped one or two cleanly. The loudest cheer of the night came from him dropping that one guy behind the net.

I agree. He had a great game and was crashing and banging everybody. I wish he would give that effort every game.
