Oh yeah, that's right, it wouldn't. This is clearly a one-sided deal.
The Wild wouldn't even take Toskala for free, since he would just prevent them from re-signing Backstrom. Therefore, you have created a trade that, even if you ignore lost of Harding, the Wild are actually HURT, not helped by this trade.

Why would the Wild want Toskala? Taking on 4 million dollars in a goalie would clearly mean the Wild are not going to re-sign Backstrom.....thats not going to happen!
I'm not for dealing that 2nd rounder (even though we dont have it) for Harding. I'm just not that sold on him. The Leafs are better off going with Toskala next year (a contract year) and see how he does. It's a win-win for the Leafs. He either plays extremely well and the Leafs could move him at the deadline or he stinks and the Leafs are in the Taylor Hall sweepstakes.
