I'd like to be the last straw for Renney. That'd make two coaches we dispatched this year.

I don't disagree..but IMO Sather should be canned. Gomez, Drury, Nalsund..all horrible signings. how many years in a row can this guy stick around signing these high prices UFAs with **** all for results. he doens't get it.

I don't feel like going back and looking... and not that it really matters, but of the 4 coaches fired this season to date (Savard, Hartsburg, Melrose, Laviolette) was Hartsburg/Sens the only one where the last game was against the Caps? I am pretty sure the Caps played the Hawks, Sens and Lightning within the week before the respective coaches were fired (Savard, Hartsburg and Melrose.)

Rangers recent play has been horrendous, and it all points to a big win for the Capitals. As a Ranger fan I don't mind loosing anymore, our team is pathetic. Atleast I will get to watch one entertaining team tonight. Good Luck and no injuries.

I'd also love to see the Rangers continue to lose.

Anything to teach Sather that overindulgence in UFAs is not the way to go. The man is a dirty ***** when it comes to offering contracts.

The Beagle Downie one was memorable and probably one of the only reference points for those that don't follow the Bears. I have to say his recent bout with Joe Piksula (Manchester) was very memorable and bloody...not sure if anyone caught it and put it on youtube, but someone that has the time and is interested might want to look to see if there is any video.

Caps have won 3 straight vs the Rangers and have never swept the season series. Rangers have lost 5 straight. The law of averages looks ugly here. I've got that feeling we all got in entering the last two meants of a potential Kolzig shutout.

Score first, score early. Get them down on themselves. If not, this is going to be a long night.

That Rangers team's funk looks to be entrenched to me. They look like a team about to get its coach canned. I don't often expect blowouts, but the Caps could lay a hurt on the Rangers tonight.

True! Caps have to jump on them early and it doesn't help that they haven't played since saturday. It seems like this season the longer the rest they have between games the more sluggish they play.

I think it goes one way or another. I don't foresee a close game.

Nah, he won't be +4 if we score 4 goals and he gets a hat trick. At least one of his goals would be on the PP.

You're also forgetting that he'd be on the ice for 3 goals against.

The Caps need to start the road trip on a good note. 5-2 Caps! Just ****ing win.

About the Beagle call up...

Quoting someone I am very close to and trust implicitly:

(1) Hershey plays Hamilton tonight; why call up Giroux or Bourque if Semin might really play; (2) Laich or Fehr or Flash or Nyles would replace Semin upstairs, and Beagle will grind on the third or fourth line; (3) Beagle has a safer, feisty, edgy, check-finishing, north-south game that is lower risk for a road game in MSG; (4) Beagle can line up and play any forward position, and is decent on faceoffs; (5) great deserved low-risk reward for Beagle, even if he does not play tonight; and, most important (6) in Bruce I trust.

MegaDittos to No. (6).
