Burke himself said recently the Leafs need to get 'tougher and bigger.'

He's also the guy who traded a 2nd rounder for 6ft3, 205lb Brian Sutherby.

He's also the guy who had among others Brendan Morrison, Henrik Sedin, and Andy McDonald as his No.1 centre.

Burke isn't going to dress a team full of 6'4 goons. I'm sure you've seen his full description of a team included the part about having his top 6 forwards and Top 4 defencemen consisting of skilled players.

So to answer your question, yeah I think Burke would have room for a point a game, selke winner as his first line centre.

He'll clear again. He's nothing special. Dime-a-dozen AHL scorer.

If he played for anyone else, this thread would be maybe 5 posts long. The guy is a fringe NHL player who can't stick on a pretty talent devoid roster.

Why?? Did you question the first two times he was put on waivers? Will you question it when none of the other 29 teams claim him? (which is highly likely). He is not skilled enough for the top six and not big enough for the bottom six, where does he fit?

Carolina!

Then we could have two J. Williams!

I think Burke's doing the right thing. If he doesn't fit in the long term plans or if he's not the type of player Burke wants around, then why not? Its not like he can trade him anyways.

If he is one of our top prospects then we really should not be in the NHL. The trouble with our team is we have to many players like Moore who we picked up on waivers and Williams who has already cleared waivers twice that some think are our best players. Truly pathetic !!!

No kidding, if he would have played all season he would have gotten ~37 goals.

Van:
Williams

Toronto:
Hodgson
2nd Rounder

Am I being sarcastic? Isn't it sad that its hard to tell.

Ryder, Sturm, and Noke are out right now.... I wouldn't mind giving him a tryout and then waiving him if it doesn't work.

I've been looking for the right emoticon to identify just how stupid this is. Here's what I've come up with:

<---- Brian Burke
