Stop the presses- L. Brooks FINALLY gets something right

Toronto has Strachan and Ottowa has Garrioch. In New York the claim to hockey journalistic incompetence goes by the name of Larry Brooks who has been wrong about everything for 10 years. Today, he finally got something correct when he wrote -

"Never in the history of pro sports has there been such a failure as the Rangers over the last seven years, the disgrace becoming more and more pronounced every season."

The Bungles were pretty bad until this year.

In Ottawa we liked Brooks idea of "deep discussions" (or whatever deep) of Pronger to the Sens. Mucks didn't know what he was talking about of course.

One more time.

Isles are barely an 8th place playoff team.

The Rangers are contenders for Ovechkin.

Until your team is superior in the standings, best to keep one's mouth shut tight, lest you keep looking like the fool you are. Especially considering that this is the third straight year you will finish behind NYI and nearly everyone else in the Conference, and you are headed for NHL immortality what with Sather guaranteeing at least a couple of more years of early golfing by turning over the cart of overpaid fatcats.

Besides, how can a homer/fan of a team that boasts Dale Purinton (Is he ape or is he man? He's certainly not an NHLer.) mock any other player on any other team, in any level of hockey from NHL to PeeWees?

The Isles are a decidedly mediocre team, nothing more, and certainly nothing to brag about.

NYR is currently an atrocity, an utter embarassment, seven years running. And still you talk smack. Pathetic.

Brooks is a rumor monger. But, like Strachan, he can sometimes sniff things out way before the other guys (Like the Hasek comeback, for example).
If these guys didn't bust these stories from time to time, they'd lose their jobs.
