so let me get this straight. The Flyers were coming off 3 straight days off, they get Richards back, the Sens played last night and we got our freakin butts kicked.
Nitty ***** the ****in bed and its the same ol same ol he never had a shot on any of the goals.
Give me a ****in break. if Biron is in net some Flyer fans are ready to nail him to a cross next to the Rocky statue. The double standard is unreal.
We get out coached, out played, out goaltended by one of the worst teams in the league. I dont care if they have won 4 straight or whatever the hell it is now in a row. The Sens are a team this Flyer team should beat every single time on home ice. Period. No excuses.
If I was there I would have booed too. This is supposed to be a playoff team? this is a a team supposedly fighting for home ice in round 1? Give me a ****in break.

***end rant***

I know you guys are probably kind of angry, and I can't blame you, but Brian Elliott was going to be the starting goalkeeper for the canadian AHL all star team, and was probably going to be goalkeeper of the year, if that makes you guys feel any better about whether he sucks or not, he is actually the best goalkeeper I've seen ottawa have since hasek and the emery finals run. I hope he can keep it going and maybe the senators finally have a number 1 goalkeeper, if there is one team that has had a hell of alot of goalkeepers like the flyers it is the senators.

I was just thinking, couldn't you guys pick up emery, I think he could be a great number one for you guys, if not for the senators or another team.

I was watching this thru 2 periods, but then I saw the third Sens goal near the end of the period and I just said "**** it". Niitty, that was the worst attempt I have ever seen in my life.

where all the defenders of Flyer goalies now.... We have average coach below average goalies and some real lazy players... Stevens and Holmgren should drive north and watch a devils practice they may learn something,

I'll defend them.

Let's look at the cold hard facts...

- Were 4th in the conference with 'supposed' (as the majority of the fan base here at HF) a terrible coach, and 'shaky' goaltending.
- Of those top 8 teams, we have the least amount of games played.
- We have done all this w/o Danny Briere (only 9 GP) for the bulk of the season.
- Sure our last game was Sunday and it was a disapointing game, but they happen. No team is going to win every game.
- Were battling the flu.
- Sens have a new coach and are playing some hockey with heart, we got beat by a team that was more desperate and hungrier.

The fact that just a couple years ago we finished dead last, and followed it up with a nice turn around has left 'some of us' fans expecting a little too much IMO. Are we a dead last team, no. Are we a legitimate favourite to win the cup, no. What we are is a very good team, with high expectations competing to win the cup.

That doesn't make the loss any easier to swallow, and I don't suggest that it should...we stunk and the outcome was ugly. However, were not going to win every game. Not the Red Wings, Sharks or Bruins win every game...and they this years best teams.

Let's support of favourite team, not flame them.

As dissapointed as I am with the game last night, I think the 4 days between games is what slowed us down. I'm sure the flu bug didn't help, but I can't see that being the reason the entire team was in slow mo.
Learn from the mistake and come out of the gates harder, faster and more hungry next game.
Last nights team needs an injection of "win at any cost, sacrifice everything and if it's not wearing orange black/white it's the enemy"

Go get em flyers.

I'm gonna apply for a Vbailout. And I promise I won't spend it on a private Vjet or on Vfurniture for my Voffice.

What defenders? The goalies get killed on this board.

What defenders do u want to move then? I think its easier, in some asspects, to change 1 or 2 goalies than 4 defenders....

No, he asked about defenders of the goalies. Not the defensemen. They had their own problems last night. Such as a pass going through Randy Jones' legs. Coburn having a shot blocked directly in front of him during a scoring chance. Carle going through complete mass hysteria every time he touched the puck. A puck splitting Parent and Niittymaki, who were standing no more than 5 inches away from each other that ended up in a goal. The whole team somehow leaving Daniel Alfredsson all by himself at the side of the net to score a goal.

I had some idiot sitting next to me whining about everything. For instance on the 4th goal "why don't you go down a little earlier Niittymaki" well gee he's a butterfly goalie and a 50-goal scorer is going to rip a one-timer, where would you like to make him decide whether or not to try and make the save. Cote's penalty was also 'a good body check.' "How do you let Nick Foligno score? Nick Foligno?"

I finally saw for myself yesterday why everyone hates Jones. I don't think I saw him keep one puck on his stick after a pass.
And yet Ossi gets the scratch.
Any this is typical Nitty. Awesome when he is in a backup role, the second there are rumblings of him being our #1, he folds.
Still not too worried though, I know we will be in the playoffs , and be one of the harder opponents to beat in the East in a 7 game series.

Just fast forward already.

Well, one of the mites on ice can score when Nitty does his vacate the entire net routine. It was good to see he's still got that in his bag of tricks just when he gets everyone liking him.

Haha, during the shootout challenge, one of the forwards was CLEARLY bigger and older than the other 3 kids on the ice. I totally yelled "A-ROD!" and "THAT KIDS ON STEROIDS!" after each of his goals.

Probably should have yelled something about getting him in a Flyers uni and out on the ice for the 3rd period.

eugh, i only caught the first period, but i think that was enough. jones was awful and niitty was taking terrible risks. the ottawa penalty kill was pretty good too, our powerplay was constantly just trying to keep the puck away from them.

I never got on. I know Niity sucks, I don't need a 5 goal game from Ottawa to remind me.
