Anyone have a guess when the schedule will be out ? It was 27th last year and I think the year before.

After the NBA scheduled is released.

Which I'm pretty sure won't happen until after the Olympics.

So, if you want to know the schedule for your team, look at last years schedule and adjust the day of the week that was impacted by the change in year and the extra day in February. Do not change the opponents or anything else, jet change the date so the games fall on the same day of the week as last year.

I really look forward to seeing Milwaukee play 10 times in Chicago this year and that Chicago plays 10 times in Milwaukee.

But three of those places do have hockey though. They should be thankful they still have it. People in current AHL cities should be thankful that there's another league in place that can fill the void in these turbulent times, not turn up their nose and write it off as "beneath" them.

It'll break my heart if ADK runs the ECHL out of town. That's such a great old building there and it had a great atmosphere with the Flames and Phantoms. I'd hate to see it go dark because of misguided pride. Because then, there'll be nothing left to go in there. The AHL isn't coming back. The ECHL has interests in the communities it serves. The players can stick around and form a connection. It's not some faceless assembly line with players and coaches who just want to get out, with teams who don't care if they win or lose. Snubbing it when it's your only option is the epitome of cutting of your nose to spite your face. This goes for Utica, Albany, Binghamton, Portland, Springfield, Syracuse, Rochester, anyone.

If Rochester goes, so does every other minor league market. Such a scenario basically means we are looking at a mandatory European same-arena reserve team model.

NBA schedule released today, so we're likely looking at late week of the 22nd/early week of the 29th.

Personally I would support an echl team, but I would not commit to season tickets, probably just a partial. With Colgate university close by and a brand new building I would not commit to a full season...

I had the ECHL somewhat nearby and I liked it better. I saw more variety of opponents than I ever did in the AHL.

@kevinoDandC - A terrific season-opening matchup for the Amerks - Hershey Bears - on home ice - 7:05 pm ET - on October 14.
The Amerks home schedule features 20 Fridays - 37 home games in ROC. There is one game in BUF - the 38th home game - Wednesday, February 22 vs Utica.
Amerks Home Schedule Day By Day - 20 Friday - 10 Wednesday (one of which is in Buffalo on Wednesday, February 22) - 3 Saturday - 3 Sunday - 2 Monday.
For fans who like variety and want to see everyone - Amerks can't give you that. All 76 games are against the other 13 Eastern Conference teams.

Cross conference play:

Manitoba at Toronto October 22/23
Toronto at Manitoba January 3/4
Manitoba at Toronto February 17/18
Toronto at Manitoba March 12/14

Other oddities:

Chicago and Cleveland do not play Pacific teams
Iowa only plays Pacific teams 4 times
St. John's has a 10 game road trip

Barracuda add Grand Rapids to their list of teams to play against (and Tuscon).

I know playing teams in the other conference is not going to happen. But why can't we at least play all the teams in our conference. No home or away games against Bridgeport

If everybody played everyone else in the league, ticket prices would go outta site.... all you gotta do is look at the echl ticket prices which are as much or more than AHL tickets......

THIS.

Now can we PLEASE stop whining about "Oh, why don't (fill in the blank) play more teams in the league"? Has it even entered your minds that AHL teams do not have unlimited budgets(even if their NHL parent club owns them)-and the travel costs alone would put a serious crimp in said budgets? Hell, the 5 California-based AHL teams play 8 less games than every other team mainly for that reason!

You forgot about newcomer Tucson. The Pacific 5ix.
