If Clarkie doesn't pull off a trade, is everyone ok with the team we have?:

Gagne--Zhamnov--Amonte
Brashear--Primeau--Kapanen
Leclair--Handzus--Recchi
Lapointe--Roenick--Radio

Sharp, Fridge scratched

Desjardins -- Malakhov
Ragnarsson -- Pitkanen
Johnsson -- Markov

Esche
Burke

What does everyone think now that OTT has gotten Devries, TOR w/Francis? Francis is old, but a leader, Devries is a good player. Are we out early again or do we match up? Please no sarcastic comments, just real thoughts for a change.

Would like to see a tough D man , like Odelin or Witt. I am happy although because to get anyone good we would have had to give up someone good ?

I'm pretty happy with the team the Flyers have, if only it could get healthy...and stay healthy.

I think our LW position is pretty weak. We have Gagné, and a decent Leclair. Satan would have been great. There is still some noise about him, we just might land him yet

On paper, I don't think the Flyers defense & goaltending are good enough to win a cup.

However, once you get to the playoffs, anything can happen. I doubt many ducks fans thought that team would get out of the first round last year...

It was 3pm today.

Someone summed up today's trading very good:

- Sens didn't upgrade goaltending
- Pronger didn't go to a rival
- Devils did nothing to improve
- Leafs got even older
- The skirts got crappy prospects
- Therien is OUTTA HERE

I'm thinking maybe people should be worried about the teams who didn't do much at all.

I guess Hitch is rewarding Recchi for having a great season, that he is doubleshifting him on the 2nd and 3rd line.

well, the deadline is over and I am ok with the team we have. I would've like to have seen us get Witt but Washington was probably asking a ridiculous price...so F em.

if we can get healthy and stay that way, we have a great shot at getting to the Finals.

Very unhappy.

I don't know who I'd rather have for the final d-man, Timmander or Malakhov. With Malakhov, you don't know which one you'll get. The one he can be, or his Pavel brendl alter ego

I agree that Clarkie didn't do enough. There were quality players getting snapped up for crap picks and no-name prospects. Surely, Kozak and a 2nd could have sprung a guy like Salei or McKee... that is, if Buffalo and Anaheim stopped pretending like they have a shot at the post-season.

Buffalo is still pretending. Anaheim just got off to a rough start at the beginning of the year and never got back on track. No reason for them to trade guys like Carney or Salei. They focus on the next NHL season whenever that may be and they will have a good team.
