One thing he does better than most of our centres is position himself in the d-zone. He may not be as flashy, but I notice him with posession of the puck in the d-zone moreso than say Plek or Lang (when he was playing). With a little more experience the confidence and puck poise will come.
He's also bigger than Plekanec, and maybe any of the other centres in the line-up.

I disagree. It might be because he's nervous, but he's mistake prone in his zone. Plus he's loses all the faceoffs...

ok but I don't think we disagree... i'm just not getting my point across well...
That's what I meant, that's the learnt part (puck poise, decision making, confidence with the puck). His positioning is intuitive and maybe why you've noticed his mistakes (like I have) is because he's there (in position) to make them.
Meanwhile with Plek and Lang our D are trying to make haily-mary-esque passes.
I personally think that Chips should have stayed with the team since his last call-up... here's to hoping that he sticks this time. He's definitely the type of player that this team is really lacking at the moment.
Would've given a chance to Lehoux on an offensive line.....Not the end of the world, but let's hope we'll be deeper at center next year at least for Hamilton, 'cause there's no way Lehoux signs with us again.
