I think Jaro earned another start with his effort last night. Don't think many people can argue with that. He was even pretty good in Calgary so i dont think this decision is to tough.
Give Carey another few days and practices to work on his game and straighten some stuff out. He's had some good success in Pittsburgh in his career so maybe thats a good place to get him back in there. He should have fond memories of the building and confidence knowing that hes played well and won games ( including earlier this year).
That being said if Carbo decides somehow ( which I dont think he will) to come back with Price in Vancouver I have all the confidence in the world in him. That performance by Halak last night could be one of things Carey needs. Internal competition is the greatest source of motivation alot of the time so i bet he's anxious to get back in the net and regain his top form. I'm sure he'll probably have some friends and family at the game also which always seems to work for the Quebec born guys when they arrive at the Bell centre in slumps so maybe Vancouver is the spot for him to have a breakout game.
That all being said I'd go back with Halak and wait until the Pittsburgh game to get Carey back in there.
Not because Halak playing like that is not good. But because of other factors. 48 shots against. Travel from Colorado to Vancouver, 2 games in 48 hours nights. The travel in the west can be pretty harsh. I'd put Price in the next game because Halak has got to be dead tired right now with a 50~ SA game + traveling half the North America right after.
Edit : My bad, I thought the game was today, not tommorow. Guess it was too early in the morning for me lol. Anyways, either goalie is gonna be fine then. I just want to see them stop giving so many shots.
we are a team who has been plagued by poor goaltending for the last month basically, and now when we finally have one of our goaltenders step up and literally steal us a game, and there is a question over who should start? Absolutely no question Halak gets the nod against the Canucks.
If we can't see further than our own nose and can't think long term, we say Halak.
If we think that Price is the goalie of the future and we are serious in wanting to keep him long term, we avoid him the embarrassment and go with Price. He's have tons of friends and family at the game and this is our only trip to Vancouver this year. Otherwise, he puts a note in his agenda and starts counting reasons to leave when he can. I would.
