Why disrupt the team chemistry right now. The Habs are on fire.

thats because on his website, eklund has a system ranging from e1 to e5 with e1 meaning there is little chance of the trade happening to e5 meaning its gonna happen 100% now

When you attach the Habs to every player currently available, chances are, when the Habs finally make a deal, one of those available players will go to Montreal.

So, if Eklund was correct for the minior move, does it means the rest of his prediction is also true?

Quote:
The Habs are closing in on a minor deal to set up a major deal according to some sources and the player heading to Montreal is a defenseman.

I say give him this one.

He's even specifically named Schneider by name a couple times and as Gainey put it:

Quote:
"Yes," Gainey admitted. "Even in our own situation, we've had discussions with Atlanta for some time, but we had to wait until a certain window in the season so that his compensation would fit into our [cap] availability. …

I say the naysayers bite the bullet and admit Ek got one right.

I would say he got this right, however other, more respectable people have been floating this since the start of the season. I won't say he got it wrong, but I won't say he got it right.

Thing is he never had Schneider to go anywhere else and on several occasions he mentioned Montreal looking at Schneider.

Give him due...He never claims that everything he reports will be an eventual trade. He simply provides us with insight on things he hears..

If it was always things he hear, he would have more than 5% rate of success....Some people in this own board were talking about Schneider before Eklund even thought about it.

If something bigger happen, then I'll give it to him 'cause that's the purpose of the trade isn't?

By the way, you do remember the news that he took from somebody else that he made it look like it was his own "sources".....and we all know it didn't happen only once....He might have some contacts, but to think that he actually hears everything he writes on his board is being naive.

Agreed. Let's hope there's a bigger better trade coming

Ek said there would be a Minor Trade, and would lead to a Major trade. Now since that's Gainey's style I'd say that I'm not surprised, I said he would pick up a few before a big player awhile ago. So I duno, iffy for me to say Ek was right when I could just as easily say I was right.
