How fast is Jason Chimera?

How fast is he?

I saw one game from him and it's unbelievable. I'd like to know if you think that he's the fastest skater in the NHL. If not, who is it?

Well Chimera did break gartner's speed record at last years Oilers skills competition. That should give you some sort of indication.

Rico Fata used to be extemely fast.

Richard Zednik is not as fast as those guys, but has one of the best skating strides in the NHL

Jason Blake gotta be mentionned here. He is the most dominant skater I have ever seen, except maybe Koltsov. Just watch an islanders game and you'll notice every time he is on the ice because of how fast he is skating.

Still is, Fata is, without a doubt in my mind in the top 5 speed skaters in the league.

Koltsov is the fastest skater I have ever seen in my life.

Chimera isn't far behind.

I think Scott Niedermayer and Marian Gaborik deserve mentions. Other than that I think its Chimera.

Exactly what I was going to say.
I've seen both play, and Koltsov is definatly faster than Vermette, by the way (Fata might be, too).

I'll echo the statement that others have made here.

Chimera is very very quick, but Konstantin Koltsov is the fastest player I've ever seen. His speed is breathtaking.

In a game situation where players have to skate for short bursts, my favorite skater is Marian Gaborik, whom is so quick and agile.

Jason Chimera for my money, though, is the fastest guy in the league coming down the wing. In terms of top speed, Chimera. In terms of overall quickness that is useful at the NHL level rather than speed skating competitions, Marian Gaborik.

He's not THE absolute fastest, but with the puck, Kovalchuk takes 2 strides and he's around his defensemen, he's just amazing.

Koltsov is still the fastest though.
