For me, its THN writer Ken Campbell. I know writers like to create controversy, but Campbell just sounds arrogant at times and writes depressing, negative columns about how hockey is boring/going to kill someone/dead puck era/, etc.. Plus, I don't know if anyone else notices this, but in every one of his articles, he always always has to say "to be sure" at some point.
I don't want to sound like an echo, but for me, Ken Campbell just doesn't seem to actually like hockey. Every time they give him a choice of what to write about, he talks about the latest thing he decided to hate about hockey. Then, when they tell him what he has to write about, he gives up articles with the wonderous quality of his recent trade deadline article.
Edit: While I'm at it, every hockey journalist for the Ottawa Sun and Ottawa Citizen except Wayne Scanlan are pretty much horrendously terrible.

Bruce Garrioch is an embarrassment to both hockey and journalism.
And of course this:
I have no respect for Mike Brophy's opinion on anything.
When you get down to it though, it's not these guys in particular who are the problem. The problem is that sports journalism has only a vague connection to actual journalism. The best sports journalism is done by people completely outside of the field they are reporting on - either real journalists, or general "sports journalists" who don't have a connection with any one sport / team.
I've stated this already today but I'm not a fan of Ken Campbell. Purely my opinion..but I think THN would be better off without him.
I'm not sure they would be, in the sense that THN is awful for a lot more than just Campbell.
I have a subscription to it (gift) and enjoy getting the perspectives from outside of my market... but then I see that Garrioch writes for the Ottawa perspective, and I realize that every single team has a hack like him sending in their thoughts. Thus, the magazin itself has little to no value 90% of the time.
Ken Campbell for sure. Was there a person happier (aside from David Branch) to see someone die from a hockey fight just to say "I told you so". Campbell had, what I can only describe as restrained glee for that accident with Don Sanderson, it gave him ammunition.
But yeah, the guy seems to hate hockey, and doesnt really know much about it at all.
While we're on THN Adam Proteau can be weird too. He once spent an entire article complaining how no NHLer has "come out" and how it may be our fault as an NHL culture. I guess it beats talking about Alexandre Ovechkin's goals. Proteau seems a little more levelheaded when he's on Off the Record, but he's like Campbell, both are anti-fighting advocates and they remind of it time and time again.
Also if Bob McCown was a writer, I think he'd be the worst. No one from Ohio should be giving any advice on Hockey, stick to Baseball Bob.
Howard Berger's name has to be reiterated. I've never seen a writer go so blatantly out of the way to insult his readers and lay blame at their feet for whatever problems go on in Leaf land. Just a total idiot, and the main reason I no longer visit the rumours website he blogs for, of which I won't name.
Ken Campbell. It sometimes seems like he's some raving lunatic they found on the street and they got someone to type what he was babbling about. I don't know how many times they can let him write articles on how terrible fighting is. We get it, he's not a fan, but he must have a column about it every other issue. Also his absolute hatred of the CHL, he's gone on about it so many times now he sounds like someone who got cut from a camp 20 years ago and still holds a grudge, especially against the OHL it seems. And not only that but he does sound very arrogant and is always very quick to insult pretty much anyone. I really have no clue how he has a job and they keep featuring him. He's the absolute worst there is, just a complete moron.
