Yes what a bad goal. No one gives up breakaway goals.

Come on.

I'm not trying to take away from Richards in the least bit, but Lundqvist just got handcuffed by it.

I think he has it if it doesn't flutter like that. It was a really odd shot, probably really tough to read, so maybe he gets some slack there.

I remember that Canucks game. It was PPV and I went to the pub to watch it. Lived in a small town at the time and after Philly made it 2-0, the power went out for the entire city. We drove to a bar out of town on another power grid but they didn't carry PPV.

Actually kind of glad I didn't get to watch that game. I might have sunk into a deep depression.

Lundqvist has a history of allowing real weak breakaway goals to Mike Richards. See: March 25th 2008.

Your making my point. It was a flubbed shot. Lundqvist went down to stop it and 3 seconds later it hit him. He had no chance on that.

That was a weak backchecking effort by the Rangers.

Weird coincidence that all the teams are wearing blue on those 5-on-3's. Even Poulin's goal is against a team in blue jerseys

one that we were discussing re Richards is his SHG record. His record is 73 SHGs. Richards is at 17. so 56 remaining. 11 years on his current contract at 5 shgs a year would give him 72. and he will likely sign again because he will only be 34 at the time his contract is over.

Obviously it all depends on what level of player he is later in his career. But it definitly seems plausible. Im sure a lot of younger players today are in the same boat. A lot more penalties are called now, and there are a lot more short handed threats

Wait 11 years from now and you just assume he will resign again?
