renney was quoted saying that they might call up one of potter, sanguinetti, or sauer to be the 7th defenseman. out of the three sauer has been the most consistent in the last 2 months.

looks like the rangers havent overlooked sauer after all...

Coach Tom Renney said that Paul Mara (shoulder) would be out more than day-to-day, but not for the season. Mara was to undergo an MRI in New York tomorrow or Wednesday. Renney said he would look to Hartford for a seventh defenseman and named Bobby Sanguinetti, Corey Potter and Mike Sauer, 21, as possibilities. I've heard that Potter's game has slipped and Sanguinetti needs more time in the A, so I'm guessing Sauer, 6-3, 215 and rugged, may get the opportunity. The Minnesota native has had knee and hip surgeries in the past, but has been healthy for the past two months.

I'd love to see Sangs! Lord knows we could use some O from the D.

I'd love to see Sauer. I've been looking forward to seeing him play for a while.

see if he could come in and really help the powerplay without being a serious detriment to our team defensively then i would bring him up. potters play recently hasnt really been that great. and sauer has been solid defensively

IF I were Sather/Renney I would call up Sanguinetti and dress him as a 7th defenseman....Play him on the power play ONLY and rotate a forward with the 4th line....

Bringing up Sauer would be a good move, IMO. People underestimate how important his potential success is to this team. If he ever turns out to be as good as advertised, he and Staal would give us two good, young, dependable defensive defensemen.

Exactly. He would be exposed in his own end.

I'd like to see both Sauer and Sanguinetti up at some point.

It would give us Phillips and Volchenkov with more offensive ability.

I hope they bring enough suits with them to sit up in the press box and watch Redden suck night in and out without sniffing any ice.
