When you don't think things can get any worse in hab-ville Bob wakes up but unfortunately thinks its 2005.

Him and Cullimore were just money deals so Chicago would take Samsonov's salary. Pretty simple, obvious stuff.

Ohh the precious 2nd and 3 round draft picks...what did you think you were gonna get for him?

Be realistic...we have so many D and prospects in the system, after awhile your gonna have to move soem assets.
Its either prospects or picks if you want to improve.

From what i remember we still have washington`s 2nd for Huet and we dont know which year the picks are for.

Montreal is stacked in the farm. We can afford to lose a few draft picks.
Stacked? Like O'Byrne stacked? We will regret this move or we'll just forget about it as usual.

What is there more value in the NHL for:

Goaltenders or Defencemen?

I'd say D-men, when Manny Legace is being put on waivers, Pascal Leclaire loses a starting job he never really lost and Tim Thomas, despite his great play, still platoons with a former number one goaltender in Minnesota.

He talked of a minor deal to set up something else. Schneider has seen better days, but a trade involving him is not really minor. It's not like trading for Todd Simpson for future considerations. Eklund is still a fraud and forever will be.

good move by gainey even though it cost 2 picks, i like it, people here complain that gainey needs to move, then when he does, arent happy about it

its not like he trade ribeiro for niniimaa again geez

also, HALL GILL got toronto a 2nd and 5th round pick, so a 2nd and a 3rd round pick for schneider aint that bad...

good move gainey...FINALLY
It's a desperation move by the Habs. Hopefully Schneider can help the PP.

I hope the hell they don't trade O'byrne the way he was playing. I'd trade Gorges before O'b.

Really? We're now very solid? I would question that notion until I see what the change of scenery does to Schneider because from what I've seen of him this year, he's been far from solid.

I would have thought just one of those picks would have been enough but what do I know.

If it solves our PP woes it'll be a very good acquisition. If not, well I guess lots of heads might roll at the end of the season.

Subban, McDonaugh, Fischer, Carle, Valentenko, Emelein...

I just listed our D prospects.

We're fine.

Personally I like this move, we all know we needed some experience and help on the blue line. He knows what it takes to win and already has a championship with the habs, definatley going to bring some veteran leadership to the dressing room.
I think there is still more that needs be done, but this is definatley a step in the right direction.

Right.. you mean the team that's scored just 7 less goals than us?

Scheinder also plays 5 minutes more per game than Brisebois.. I'm not saying Brisebois is better, I'm just saying Scheinder is no where near his form of last year.

Anyone saying this is a bd move simply does not understand how things work. Both teams got what they wanted.

We will probably deal a Bou and recover one of the two picks lost.

Schneider for a 2nd and 3rd rounder is too much for a draft this deep.

When everybody is healthy. 15 D and 8 forwards.

You can't send down D'ago or Max Pac.

Possibly Sergei to Hamilton. But theres still too many D man. Bouillons gotta go. Trade him to a western team trying to make the playoffs and get the 3rd rounder back.

It all depends on what current market conditions are for Dmen...

Wait til the deadline passes before passing judgement on whether or not this is expensive or not.

I don't see two picks as being the end of the world.
