My understanding is that they aren't even close in terms of skating.

I think comparing Riemer a guy who has played just a couple of AHL games to a guy that played an entire season is great measuring stick personally.

I say we start the comparisons next season.

Vaclav Pletka scored 41 goals in the AHL. JVR has 1.

Pletka > JVR

I did not say Maroon was better as I still think JVR would have been better off playing for Brampton, I'm looking for someone who has seen the two play and compare their styles as well as how they have looked with the Phantoms. JVR is clearly ahead at this point I want to hear about both of them and how Maroon has looked playing with the more hyped JVR. I also mentioned nothing about stats as everyone knows they don't mean everything. Maybe it would make more sense if the title was JVR and Maroon, the v.s automatically throws veryone under the wrong impression.

it's an unfair comparison like most people are saying... maroon has a full ahl season under his belt and jvr is getting his feet wet in the playoffs... the potential for both is pretty high, but me myself am more looking forward to seeing if maroon can get his skating better and eventually earn a roster spot

Not to try and nit-pick, but if you're going to post stats, get them right. Pletka's AHL single-season high in goals was 20. He did this feat twice, 2000-2001, and 2001-2002. In 2000-2001, Pletka recorded 41 points, another single-season high. Even though I know your post was sarcastic, to say he put up 41 goals in a season is just incorrect.

Yep, they are 2 games into the playoffs, down 0-2 to Hershey.

JVR has no points, is a -3, and has 7 shots through the 2 games. The team has scored only 4 goals through the 2 games and has let up 10.

Not to try to nit-pick on you either but if your going to nit-pick on someone's obviously sarcastic post then I'll nit-pick on you falsely correcting him. He never said Pletka scored 41 goals in a single season. If you read it again he said "Vaclav Pletka scored 41 goals in the AHL", which is in fact correct. in 00-01 he has 20 goals as well as 1 playoff goal, in 01-02 he has 20 goals...add them all up and he had 41 total goals. It was clearly a sarcastic post and wasnt supposed to be serious in the first place so if your going to correct someone you might want to be correct

Murphy's Law is: "Anything that can go wrong will go wrong."

The irony of his post was that he was being nit-picky, about someone else who was falsely being nit-picky, but he left himself open to having his own nits picked. But, I was just busting his stones anyways.

Oh, and by the way, who is this Muphry character?

Pletka could have been an NHL player if he wanted to. He didn't want to do the work and pay his dues in the AHL.

Descriptions of our European Prospects:

http://www.hockeysfuture.com/article...200809_review/

Joacim Ericcson sounds like a pretty good goalie. In addition to Marshall, Bourdon, Ratchuck, and Syvret the descriptions of Bodrov and Lehitvuori sound good meaning in the coming years we are going to have some awesome defense.
