Yup, and I'm sure that the Canucks would agree with that statement.

It really doesn't look like we're gonna make the playoffs. I can't see the Wild winning anything with both Burns and Zidlicky injured.

The reffing in this game is just atrocious. Two very questionable penalties to Minnesota, and the Oilers have gotten away with about three or four moves that should have been sure penalties.

If Atlanta could get Tavares, they'd probably get back into the playoffs within a year or two. Kovalchuk and Tavares would be absolute dynamite on a line together.

When Koivu went down awkwardly, I was swearing up a storm. But he's ok.

We desperately need to win this. Go, Gabby, Go!

Yeah, I was ready to explode xD We're missing our best two defensemen. We don't need to lose our best forward as well.

Let's beat the Oilers.

I'm sick of all these idle pucks near the Oilers goal line, and having nobody there to put it in. This could easily be two or three to nothing.

EDIT: How the hell do we waste a 1:30 5 on 3? That was pathetic.

EDIT2: Finally!

Wow. That was a HUGE win for the Wild. We've got the same amount of games remaining as everybody except the Ducks (Who play the Coyotes tonight). We need to win on the 29th if we wanna make the playoffs.

This New York trip is gonna be very important.

Gabby's got a lot of rust. Hopefully he's better for the next game.

Yup.

Minnesota has got to be the NHL's least lucky team at the moment. We finally get back Gaborik and Foster, only to lose Burns, Zidlicky and Koivu.

I'm sorry but the playoffs at this point would be the worst thing for this organization moving forward.

I disagree.

The fans deserve better. Even a sweep is better than missing the playoffs completely.

Maybe this team can pull a Leafs, and actually play collectively better as a whole with their best player out. In the rare times that Sundin was injured during his tenure as a Leaf, the team always played amazingly, because they realized that everybody had to step up.

********. This team needs to boot DR out on the curb along with his staff, who put us in this miserable position of losing Gaborik for nothing, and having no goal scorer. The message is simple. If we make the playoffs, it justifies us having this pathetic roster. Do you know how many 20+ goal scorers we have? 1.

We don't need to have 5 20 goal-scorers like the Flyers do to win games though. However, when making the playoff run you do need people to score outside of just two lines, as we saw what happened last year when we had two pretty damn good lines. This is still a "Defense First" mentality team and it needs forwards who can understand that mentality. But your right about DR leaving, the team needs to hybrid the trap system they are running and evolve like the Devils have done.

Why are Fritsche and Clutterbuck on the ice with less than a minute left?

...what a brutal game. Now watch the Stars, Blues, Oilers and Ducks all win.

So, we got lucky with Dallas and Edmonton losing, but really unlucky as well, with Anaheim and Nashville playing to a 3-point decision, and St. Louis winning.

...least lucky team in the NHL.

Tomorrow, if we lose, that will probably be the final nail in the coffin for the season. Its all but up to that final 8th seed and there are 6 teams vying for between Nashville, Edmonton, Dallas, Anaheim, STL, and us

Yup.

For once, we need to beat a team that sucks.

Yep, this might be the season tonight. Playoff teams beat the lowly Islanders. They're a quick young team, so we need to have energy and BURY our chances for once. Please win, Wild. Please?

Looks like a decent game so far. Could be much better though.

Sheppard held his own pretty well against Witt. I'm somewhat surprised.

Well, it was the Islanders.

We need to beat Edmonton on Sunday. Like I said early in the thread, it's either us, or Edmonton. A win over Calgary would be nice too, but I won't get too excited for that one, because we suck against the Flamers.

Its a nice victory but we need to remember it was the Islanders.

Gaborik is a stud. Definitely a top player in the league. I don't care about his injuries. We need to do all we can to re-sign this guy. I'm guessing he will bolt after the season but we at least need to try. Our record when he plays and scores is ridiculous. He is the difference between us being a playoff team and and a crappy team. He can single-handedly win us games. He can impact a game like few can. If he walks at the end of the season, it will be many years before we have someone as talented as him.

Ok, my little rant is over.

werd and there is still a pretty hard April coming up as well. Almost every team is either in the playoffs or on the bubble with us.

Nice win against the chippy Islanders. It looks like we've been forced to play more more physical now. This is a good thing as we will need that game kind of against Calgary. .... b.t.w. Did anyone else notice the two blondes wearing Wild jerseys in the first row at the game?

Well, Calgary struggled A LOT against a system very similar to our own tonight. Let's hope that Gaborik can have the kind of night on Saturday that Rick Nash had tonight.

We desperately need 4 points this weekend.

Physical team that doesn't back down. Great goaltending and they have a great ability to stop our forecheck....which is basically what 80% of our offense is about.
