NHL 3v3 Arcade

Anybody else been playing this. What does everybody think?

Personally I love it. entertaining as hell...it's like a mash up of NHL Hitz, NHL 09, and the POWERTHIRST commercials.

personally? i think it's a joke and EA are playing everyone for suckers. That's what i think.

This should have and could have easily been bundled for free as a bonus mode with nhl 09 or the next game in the series, nhl 2010. It's a bare bones game they threw together in probably less than a week using the same checking, skating, dekeing and graphics engine as nhl 09.

It might be a fun game to play with friends or something, but its the principle. It's an obvious money grab and a lazy release. If they had at least put some effort and actually put NHL teams instead of just a RED and BLUE team maybe i'd feel a bit differently. It is ==>NHL<== arcade afterall.

What pisses me off though is how sheep-like consumers go out and buy junk like this anyways, even if it's not worth the price tag (regardless of how low the cost is). Which gives EA even more of a reason to keep releasing half assed crap instead of quality games.

10$?! What a joke. This **** was free 2 years ago.
EA needs to know that there is a money problem in this country!
Also, the demo doesnt really give the game a favorable mark.

Powerthirst 2 was good too.

I bought it, and enjoy the hell out of it while playing it with friends, but I agree that EA really dropped the ball with this. How hard would it have been to include even 3 players from each team?! Lazy.

Its fun and worth it in my opinion....regardless of the principle.

Its a downloadable mini-game, all of them could either be argued to be a bonus option on a full game, or part of a game collection.

Its only $10, geez, did some people expect a full game???.....They also have the option of updating it with future downloads.

After NHL 09, EA has earned some time before I ***** about quality of their games....

You mean the ones that keep buying inferior products like Xbox's and Ipods????

People can spend their money any way they want.

Madden 09, NHL 09, Mirrors Edge and a few others have been quality games coming from EA lately.

I play NHL09, don't know this one. I'm sure the reason for no teams/players is the NHL & NHLPA though, EA would have to pay for the rights and there's no way you'd be getting this for $10 at that point.

the thing that bothers me is that at the beginning it shows a picture of all the team logos...then doesn't allow teams...i was hoping nba jam style where you could pick your players from a team's starting 5, that way you could at least have nhl teams

and my roommates 10 dollars means he bought it for his ps3 which is in our room...i am not defrauding his credit or anything so no worries

i'm not so sure about that...they DO have the splash screen of all 30 logos, plus if it was NHLPA we'd have NO names. think back to the old nhl/late 90s game...can't remember the year.

94?

IGN Review - 5.9/10

http://xboxlive.ign.com/articles/951/951690p1.html

"Xbox Live Arcade has been around for several years now. By this point, publishers have figured out what sells as well as what constitutes value versus rip-off. So I have no sympathy when companies release overpriced XBLA titles that offer far too little for the average consumer. And that's why I am here to tell you to save your money and do not buy 3 on 3 NHL Arcade. "

IGN is a decent site, probably one of the more reliable ones....However, this one man's opinion, same as any of us on this board.

They need to bring back the free for all mode in NHL 2010. And make it for online play. That would be amazing.

I hate that people like Avery (who is not in the NHL right now) get on the game but players like Richards, Carter, Gagne, etc. don't make it. They should have about 10 more players to choose from, each teams jersey, and an option to play one-on-one without their buddies constantly hitting you while they score.

Oh and, something i found funny, I'm not sure if its in the full game also since i don't have it.

But i do know in the full game they don't have nhl teams, just red vs blue. So i find it funny how while the trial is loading, they show a picture of all nhl teams logos. Pretty much the last time you'll see them while playing lol.
