Downie is tough as nails or crazy as ****. Probably both!
Not that tough to go after a guy not expecting a fight!

Byfuglien doesn't use his size. He hardly fights. He only uses his size when he is pissed off. Thats why alot of Hawks fans dont like him. He reminds many of them of Daze. Daze though never used his size. At least Buff has at times!

Out of curiousity does TB have a ring of honor type thing to celebrate players from your early days?

Guys like Darren Puppa, John Cullen, etc who played well for Lightning but arent' good enough to have #'s retired

Nope, Most of the stuff around the Forum is of the 2004 team. I imagine there will be something similar but as of now no former player really deserves it. The second Lecavalier retires his number will go to the rafters though.

Your right he didn't cheap shot him. I was just pointing out Downie isn't as badass and tough as some are saying because of how he started the fight.

Either way you guys have us beat. Throw a puck or two at Huet is the best strategy when playing Hawks with him in net. I wish Khabibulin was not hurt.

It really doesn't matter who Downie fought, Lightning fans are excited because Downie stuck up for a teammate and basically showed the rest of the league that if you mess with Stamkos you will heave to deal with somebody which hasn't happened with the Lightning for a long time. If we were coached by Melrose nobody would have cared. Tocchet has changed the way we play and took Downie under his wing to make him almost a Tocchet like player.

Kari Ramo is the Troy Percival of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The man crushes really need to end.

I'm watching this game but behind in time and congrats to stamkos on the hat trick. My dvr didn't record the game so I missed the first period and didn't see stamkos first goal of the game. Nice to see stamkos having the success this past month or so.

If Mike McKenna were playing we would be losing this game.

So does Downie make Artykyhin expendable? Hawks could really you him!

How long is Smith supposed to be out?

Ramo looks very capable of filling in for him

He skated today. Personally I hope they shut him down, make sure he is 100% recovered from his concussion.

Ramo has been pelted like a ****ing shooting range all night so I can't fault him, he has come up VERY big at many points of this night.

If you want to pin something on someone, pin the lead for the Hawks on Vinny ****ing Prospal you ******* ******. I don't know why the hell you feel the need to chop everyones ****ing hands everytime someone (see: everyone) outskates you. Way to cost your team ********.

I'm not putting it on Ramo with Hawks outshooting 49-18 so far. He did more than his share, IMO.
