Let's blow this baby out of the water

Yes. Yes. Let's use Marc Staal to do it too. It's all about Vincent Lecavalier baby. It's about an elite player, one that this franchise has lacked since Jag'rs departure. However, I should be saying Messier's departure. Because this is a Vinny Lecavlier entering his prime we're talking about( at age 28)

Personally, this boring brand of hockey has become tiresome. I say we blow this thing out of the water and go after Vinny hard.

I say we use Staal and work around that. It may have to involve Dubinsky too, but I'm still able and willing. This is because we have a complete player in Anisimov waiting in the wings. This is because we have drafted an influx number of d-men over the past few drafts with the Likes of Sauer, Saugenetti, and Del Zotto who I was very impressed with during training camp and pre-season. This is why I feel if anyone can go after Vinny, it's us. We have Marc Staal, whom himself may approach elite status when it comes to defense. The lightning have Stamkos to run the era, and would complete it with Staal to run the backline. We need a player like Vincent Lecavalier like never before. Talk about a shift in dynamics to a doom and gloom boring style of hockey to a charismatic, energetic, new brand of hockey hitting madison square garden

In a couple season we can have....

Prucha-Lecavalier-Zherdev
Grachev-Anisimov-(enter scoring ufa here)
Korpikoski-Drury-Callahan
Byers-???-???

Saugenetti-Rozsival(hoping redden is the guy out)
Del Zotto-Mara(hope to resign him for veteran leadership)
Potter-(enter veteran tough hitting stay at home UFA d-men)

Just imagine Lecavalier-Zherdev together ....this is the brand of hockey that allows players like Prucha to be regularly used in the line-up. Prucha-Lecavalier-Zherdev

You keep one of Drury or Gomez. I'd much prefer Drury. You also have Anisimov waiting in the wings. As bad as some of you may feel that Marc Staal, Brandon Dubinsky, and possibly even Girardi are part of such a deal....You need to remind yourself who we have waiting in the wings....Del Zotto, Anisimov, Saugenetti. Marc Staal's value is at a very high, and I love the praise he's been getting from media's throughout the NHL. Now or never baby, let's do this.

Discuss the rumor, not the source. Any post that fails to abide by that get's deleted. If it continues to happen, infractions follow.

The Rangers are a desperate hockey team right now and they have had talks with the Lightning about Lecavalier. There is NO doubt about that. I have it from 4 solid sources that Vinny to NY has been discussed.
I dont think desperate is the right word. This is a transition team. The hot start got everyone excited but Sather is, contrary to some opinions, not that dumb.

I do believe 100% that is Lecavalier is being shopped that Sather has taken that call.

I don't buy the fact that the Rangers would add another high-priced center without moving one of Gomez or Drury, but stranger things have happened.

"The major player in that deal would have to be Staal, but of course the Rangers would have to move money around as well...I am told that Prucha to Pittsburgh or Edmonton, and Rozsival to Dallas are possibilities. Those deals could happen, but the determining factor would be Marc Staal to start...But Dubinsky, Girardi, and some top picks will be included I am told."
Holy Mid season Makeover.

If Staal, Dubinsky, and Henrik are staying then sure

if not, don't want him

Trade Staal if it seriously means landing Vinny.
This is a proven 50 goal scorer in the prime of his career.
He'll be a huge difference maker.

I think Bolts would want, Lundqvist, not Staal for Lecavalier. I'd say it's fare.

i'm sure there's a team out there that would take gomez off of our hands in the offseason. you're telling me columbus or edmonton wouldn't bite?

i'd make pull the trigger. as much as i love staal we're talking vinny lecavalier here.

it would take some creative cap management to get Lecavelier's obscene contract to fit here.

So, if Sather deals Staal and Girardi as part of a package for Lecavalier and either Rozy OR Redden for Avery (just speculation on the Trade Rumors board), with Paul Mara injured for a while, we're left with Reitz and Kalinin on D??? I know we have Potter, Sauer, Sanguinetti and Fahey in the AHL, but I'm not so sure about this...

Those that are staying are Redden, Roszival, Drury and Gomez.

No need to worry. It's only a rumor and too much has to happen to make it work. I'm not that concerned.

Rozsival does have some trade value, despite the contract. I wouldn't be shocked if he was moved and the Rangers didn't get fleeced.

That's a nightmare waiting to happen. Vally as our starting goaltender & Wiikman as the backup with no good goalie prospects in the system? Not happening.

Unless we can move Gomez and/or Redden, then I say no thanks to Vinny.

For the love of God, when will people stop saying this nonsense?

Transition to what? What is this team transitioning to? When will this transition end?

I hate this phrase. There is no transition. Unless they can move one of the three horrendous contract, this team is going to look very similar next year...and the year after that.

I don't think Hank will ever be moved. It's weird to even talk about it. Vinny is a great player, and I'd love to have him here, but we'd need to be creative in other moves to get that contract to fit.
