Never....Van riemsdyk will be less expansive than st-louis....we couldn't afford st-louis. And even if we needed St-louis, I think that this is overpayment....

what a joke, St.Louis isn't worth anywhere near that. And the LAST thing that the Flyers need is forward help. When Briere gets back we'll actually have a slight excess.

I said this in another thread, but it bares repeating:

IF YOU DO NOT LIKE A PROPOSAL, PROVIDE YOUR RATIONALE AS TO WHY IT IS BAD. Just posting "terrible proposal" or the facepalm smiley (easily the most overused smiley on the boards. Yes, even more than the oft-improperly used sarcasm one) or something like that is inappropriate.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE POSTER, JUST STAY OUT OF THEIR THREADS. Posting to insult someone is flaming. Going to multiple threads for that purpose is even worse. If you dislike a poster so much that you don't want to read their posts or threads, use the ignore poster feature. Or just stay out of the thread. Trying to drive someone away through harassment is unacceptable.

Are the Flyers gonnabe okay when Briere comes back cap-wise? Don't they have to deal some salary?

it's not REQUIRED that they make a trade, they will have to make some moves but it could be all internal, they need to shed right around $2mil.

Eh I don't think it's that bad of a proposal, but the Flyers definitely don't need more high priced forwards.

I'm beginning to like Jones more and more actually. I used to be the biggest Jones hater in the world, no doubt. I'd love to see them sit Metro or something, since Briere coming back would mean one forward is benched.

But yeah, IMO that's too pricey for an old scoring winger, while we have young scoring wingers[aside of Knuble] that are doing just fine with us.

I'd like Ranger from TBL, as well.

I honestly believe we'll see a Lupul + Jones/Alberts/Carle trade for a defenseman.

I'd love to see that, too. Hopefully, it's for someone physical and not a UFA, although it would probably have to be somewhat expensive, if we are sending $4-5 million back in cap for this year, and possibly $6-7 million going forward.

I don't think everyone realizes exactly how good St. Louis has been. His leadership and play have made him more of an asset to the team than ever. If it was a short term decision I'd rather give up Lecavalier.

Can't believe this tool (OP) has five (!) threads on the first page. I know most are banned for swearing, flaming ect. but these kind of annoyances should be dealt with. Just ban the guy, no one here will cry about it.

The Flyers have 4 20 goal scorers as we speak, and will have 2 more in short order.

WHY do we need a forward? We have more forwards than we know what we can do with.

If anything we need a mean but good defenseman or an elite goalie. Short of those things, there's not much we need, and we certainly don't need any forwards.

Why? We're loaded up front with big contracts and we have no problem scoring, so why add another big contract. No reason for the Flyers to get St. Louis, and we trade away way too much. JVR, the first, and maybe Lupul don't get moved unless an elite defenseman is coming back.
