I sure as hell don't. He's been inconsistent his ENTIRE career. He's had TWO great seasons his entire career.

I was hoping I was wrong about Kovalev and that he'd as great as he was last season but history has once again proven to be the victor.

No thanks, finally someone told him the way it is. We don't need him dragging down our youngsters.

That's mostly how I think. And not specific to Kovalev but to the whole what-should-the-habs-be-about thing...

Of course, I'm not a *real* fan because I think playing with style and providing an exciting show is more important than silverware.

I sometimes get the feeling that if the NHL were to auction off the Stanley Cup, most people in here would be pleased enough with Boivin paying a few mill and organising a year-long parade instead of a hockey season.

Every cup, every year starts with a dream. And in my dream, there's Alex Kovalev at his best.
I agree with this statement, Kovalev can retire a Hab with a Stanley Cup win, but he has to play like he wants it every shift.

This was supposed to be "I want back Kovy" thread not a bashing one. The haters invaded the whole internet, and they have one thing in common.

You're right. How come the management is unable to draft and develop a real one since ages ?

Is Price the next one ? He better behave and perform !

I would like a top offensive talent.

During the next two games, the team will probably lose by lots (and not because Kovy is not in the lineup). What if the Caps and the Pens destroy the Habs? What then?

Will Price suddenly steal a game after one practice and after being accused of being a party animal? Will the lineup they have be able to compete with the Caps? No way.

The only chance they have is against the struggling Pens if Halak can steal one.

What then? What if they're in 8th place after Thursday and the team plays as they did during the past two weeks? Who do they then blame?

The list of players who are playing awful is longer than the list of players that are playing well. The style of play of the team has not worked for much of the year. They play the trap, but they actually trap the other team inside their blue line. Maybe it's time to blame the guys in charge.

At this point, Kovalev wasn't helping much.
I'm sure BG noticed that our team( and Kovalev) was looking more and more like the 06-07 edition, where everything crumble down with Kovalev whining and playing like crap.

Before letting it crumble as much, BG decided to sit Kovalev.
We were playing as bad as we could, whether we lost with or without Kovy won't change anything seeing as he wasn't helping us win.
If anything he was hurting our team most of the time.

I'm very curious to see how our team will come out tonight.

I seriously don't care if Kovy is in or out. I take comfort in knowing it we can't possibly play worst than how we've been doing it the past weeks.

You take the words out of my mouth and leave me speechless. A first on this board. I totally agree with every word.

It's ok ...

I can't wait to see Tanguay back, he will bring back that offense we need, Koivu will have a true winger who can actually score and he will make all of you forget that once Alex Kovalev was any part Montreal Canadiens because we won't need him anymore.

Whatever happens, I wish my heart out that he will be back in a Montreal uniform... but if he's gone, well... too bad...

I'M gonna miss him doing magic on the ice, deking defenders like no other could.

Watching a Habs game is gonna feel weird now.

I hope Kovy will be back. I think Gainey just wants him to rest up and see the other parts of the team that are struggling with more focus. I do believe he needs the rest and I think nothing more will come of this. I hope you retire here Kovy! The real fans faith won't falter. We believe Kovy.
