Funniest part of the game was seeing Ovechkin on the big screen on the bench after watching his replay again, he put his hand up to his ear like "yeah, make some noise people!"

I blame this loss on the cam-man! Idiot! ( should I put this too ? )

On a side note, I really enjoyed the game, Caps are a fun team to watch!

A lot of it stems from them being semi overlooked this year because the Sharks, Bruins, and Caps are such great stories. Also their star defenseman is getting passed this year, and its hard for them to see that while Datsyuk continues to not get the respect he deserves. I think all that plus the problems in net and the losing streaks are just turning good fans into trolls and such...

So, I just watched "NHL on the Fly," and the highlights of the Caps' game used segments from both the CSN and TSN (or NHL Network, not sure). And the crowd noise was much clearer and louder in the other broadcast than on the CSN one. CSN should get better/more speakers to capture the crowd noise.

I remember earlier this year saying watching Ovie play is like examining a fine Picasso...he just elevates the game to an art-form.

Tonight's goal makes me feel like Picasso is an understatement.

Man, I love sitting in 103. This goal, plus the Detroit goal and the Buffalo goal = happy me. Amazing Ovie, simply amazing.

Is there a replay that shows Ovy holding his hand to his ear after the replay on the jumbotron?

Ovechkin led Sportscenter. Haven't seen the top 10 yet, but I'll bet a finger against a Krispy Kreme doughnut it's #1.

After he kinda hopped onto the bench after the shot, he was bending over for a few minutes and eventually was back up hanging over the boards. When he came out for his shift, it was during a TV TO and he skated around on it the entire time testing it and it looked like if he had any pain he was trying to skate it off.

That was awesome! He's like "come on, show me love!" I noticed him watching the Funny Follies during the time out.

As for the goal - OMG! That was amazing! I don't know what was better, the move he made to get the puck or scoring the goal as he was falling on his back, which he says he "practices" during practice. (he tried that move at the ASG)

And Green's dad was great! When the showed him in Ted's box he got up and waved to the crowd as they all cheered for him. One of the guys behind me said he's famous for being the father of a hockey player.

When they showed Green's highlight reel, all the guys on the bench were watching it.

As soon as I got home I put the highlights up on my FB page!

And after he was "snubbed" at the Espy's for "The Goal" he better get a nod this year for that goal. The move he made to get the puck to start the whole play had us screaming and then when it went it, the roof blew off the building!

Also, I love the commentary from the TSN feed - "...assist to Bruce Boudreau!"

TSN lost its audio for a portion of the game and that is why On The Fly used both broadcasts. The crowd noise is a decision by the director/producer. Your team on the road will usually choose less crowd noise and then turn it up on the road. TSN likes lots of sound from the ice surface and they turn those mics way up.

For instance you could really hear the referees yelling at the players to do or stop doing something.

Good game guys.

Your team is lethal offensively. We sucked as of late, but I thought we stepped it up and played a pretty good game and were in it until the very end. Congratulations to you on two points, this might be the year you go deep into the playoffs.

I love watching the feeble efforts of guys trying to stop Ovi. Like Komisarek crashing into the goal post after THE goal.

I enjoyed this slight difference of impression between the Montreal Gazette and the Associated Press when it came to the Ovie wonder-goal. I'll let you guess which quote came from which publication.

Quote:
The NHL's reigning MVP used his backhand to bank the puck off the boards to get around Roman Hamrlik at the blue line, skated through the faceoff circle and kept going even after he was hooked and jabbed off his skates by Kyle Chipchura. Sliding toward the crease, Ovechkin then poked the puck past the right pad of goaltender Carey Price to create another YouTube instant classic.
Quote:
...but Ovechkin chipped the puck off the sideboards, used a spin move to elude Hamrlik and kept control of the puck even after he lost his balance while trying to avoid a check. Ovechkin was on his back when he flipped the puck past Price.

I am sooooooooooo freakin' glad this game was on NHLN last night and that I recorded it. I watched it on my own DVD of the game and watched it on On the Fly, too, after I got home from work. That's after watching the YouTube uploads while at work!
