Man, so close to taking this one in regulation. That SHG from Kesler really hurts now.

Miikka Kiprusoff gets the MVP vote.

Epic game. As thoroughly entertaining as a first round matchup would be, it wouldn't do either team any favours going forward in the playoffs. Kipper was unreal.

good exciting playoff like atmosphere ... i thought it was an equal 1st period with slight edge going ot flames, flames took it to the nucks in the 2nd , but nucks dominated 3rd. game could have gone either way. nucks didnt have their strongest game and it was partly cause of the strong flames forecheck and pressure and definitely needs to step it up in order to compete a full 60 minutes with the flames.

luongo and kipper both had amazing game and it would be a killer playoff matchup though very unlikely in the 1st round...

Meh, sure it sucks that the Nucks won. Really though it is what it is. MVP goes to Kipper he had a good game. Again I'll state that he is very underrated as a Goalie.

Bring on the Wild (cant stand those losers).

Seriously. We can never seem to beat them at home.

The Flames beat them last time at the Dome.

Why not, it isn't as though the Flames played awful. Trust us a Poll is harder when the Flames don't show up.

Great game.

I thought for sure the flames had it when they made it 3-2.

We better win the final game. Kipper better play like crap too, because we never seem to win when he's playing like an absolute beast.

I know, but besides that, in recent memory (home opener this year, first home game vs. the Canucks last year) and several other times, we seem to always lose to them by giving up a goal late and then lose in OT.

True. Though it wasn't as though the other players played like crap.

Kiprusoff with a monster of a game and the save on wellwood makes him the easy 1st star in this game. Iginla and Bourque certainly made a case, with the 2 odd-man rushes and combining for 2 goals, but what can you say...Kiprusoff was the man tonight, period.

the only consolation here is that this ended up being the worst case scenario for the oilers... 3 point game with the canucks on top.

The fact that this game was a three point game, can only be seen as a good thing. The Nucks needed to win this game without a OT/SO. The fact that the Flames got a point can only be viewed as a good thing.

I think the real important thing is that I was 3/3 on predicting who would score for the Flames. I think I'll be off to bed now.

Amazing game guys...Kipper was just scary. Reminded me of 04. Here's hoping we both go deep in the playoffs (I'm Canadian first...plus I grew up in Medicine Hat).

I suppose but considering they had the lead in the third period, and outplayed the Canucks for the majority of the game you can't really be happy with just one point. The Canucks stole two points just like we did vs. LA a few nights ago, they didn't play their best hockey. The only solace i'm taking out of this is that the Oilers get screwed here.
