For those of you whining about Sjo and Betts ice time you can't be serious. We were shorthanded 5 times, no?

I'm usually positive after a win, especially one where we played pretty well like we did. But I'm not that excited. Our powerplay is still weak. Lundqvist had to make a lot more hard saves than Danis did. And this game is just a perfect example of how we need to win games, everyone has to be on top of their game. Name one player that had a bad game tonight. And for the love of me, don't say Voros, I'm not interested.

The Rangers are long overdue for an 8 goal explosion...I thought it would happen tonight but I guess not.

earlier in the season after Prucha had a big goal (pittsburg maybe) gomez said something along the lines of -Prucha's the best teamate I've ever had, for reason I don't know he's not in the lineup, so it great to see him get a big goal-

Don't forget we were facing a 30th place team.

True, but they're still terrible.
A win against them just doesn't mean much, not to mention they were barely able to hang on.
Saturday will be a real test.

Yeah, congrats on the win. Although both teams played a little bit sloppy, your best guys showed up. Zherdev impressed me with his backchecking tonight. Gomez got back on the score sheet. And Lundqvist is always great.

Not to mention, our "veteran" line of Comrie, Guerin, and Sim mailed it in tonight. Comrie is a ****ing joke.

It would have said a lot more for your team if you lost this one rather than won it.

Where was this Scott Gomez the ENTIRE part of this season???? He skated fluently, passed the puck, and even got a lucky goal. Where was this the entire season. If he can pick this game up and play this way the entire season we may have, :gulp:, a true 1st line center. I know its vs the Isles, but the always play their best against us, maybe this is what we need

I look at this win as the Rangers having temporarily stopped digging.

Exactly, Gomez and Drury are integral to the team's success. The team is built around them. If they play badly it drags the entire team down. I really hope they put up a more consistent effort from now on. If they can't play like this every night then at least one of them must be traded.

The isles are a tough team to play against regardless, watch some of their other games. They have nothing to lose and play that way. They go out there and play loose, something the Rangers need to remember how to do.

Regardless, as I said, I wasn't that impressed tonight. And I usually take a lot of positives out of games but the positives I would take out of tonight's game are positives I've taken out of games far too many times before just to be dissapointed very shortly after.

Not trying to be negative but we have to look at things in perspective and realize that there have been a handful of other games like this, against bad and also good teams where we managed to come away with two points.
Gomez HAS played games like this before.
Dawes HAS played games like this before.
Same goes for Drury.
But what does it matter if these games continue to be the minority?
The Rangers will still continue to drop in the standings if they can't find consistency.

And, that was the point of my quote. They did what they, a potential playoff team is supposed to do - beat the worst team in the league with a minor league in net at home, in a not-so-impressive manner. For the time being, they stopped the damage. They still don't generate enough offensive chances, and the PP is still pathetic, and Aaron Voros has no business being in NHL lineup.

Nice win. Bad as we've been I guess that still proves we're not the worst. Prucha fights better than Voros. At least he's smart enough to keep his head out of range for the most part.

Gomez looked great. Hope this is him heating up and it isn't just him doing something against the Islanders and then--not. It's happened before.

Of course the Rangers aren't the worst. Saying they are is just exaggerating.

This was a real test, if you don't think so then you dont watch the Islanders. Even in the conditon they are in they always make you work for a win. The Rangers won tonight because they worked for it, it's wrong to think they were not tested tonight.

Good win for you guys

(sat in section 345 with my fiancee)

Henrik made some nice saves,Gomez & Drury stepped up tonight.

I was trying to use that Tmobile service to send this message "Comrie Sucks!!"

He & Sim mailed it in for us.

Danis could only do so much

btw- Ive never had issues with the crowd (just to kill any bs rumors) just some fun but was it me or was Security real *****y today?

Sure as Hell seemed like it.
